Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Tide and his siblings were saved from a high-kill shelter in Calfornia and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine on Wednesday 3rd August.  We post our adoptable dogs across the East Coast and Canada so we can reach as many amazing adopters as possible and match each dog with their perfect home. Please note: We do not transport dogs. Approved adopters will schedule an appointment for a meet-and-greet at People 'n' Pets, Freeze Dried Goodies & Gear in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, where you’ll get to meet Tide in person — and hopefully take home your new best friend. If you think Tide might be “the one,” we’d love to hear from you! Health & Background &#226&#156&#133 Neutered &#226&#156&#133 Rabies and all core vaccines up to date &#226&#156&#133 Heartworm/Tick 4DX test: Negative across the board &#226&#156&#133 On monthly flea/tick preventatives &#226&#156&#133 Microchipped &#226&#154&#150&#239&#184&#143 Weight: potential 50-60 pounds Estimated DoB: 23 May 2025 Meet Tide Tide is truly an amazing boy. He has a full package of looks, personality, and yes — he’s a master manipulator! Even after multiple visits to the emergency hospital in Southern Maine, all the staff fell in love with him. One vet even emailed his information to a colleague in New Hampshire just to share what a special pup he is. Medical Background As a young puppy, Tide developed weakness in his legs and, at one point, couldn’t stand or walk. After several trips to the emergency hospital and various treatments, he was diagnosed with two growth-related bone conditions: Hypertrophic Osteodystrophy (HOD) and Panosteitis. Panosteitis (sometimes called “growing pains”) is a temporary, painful inflammation of the long bones that affects young, fast-growing dogs, particularly large-breed mixes like Tide. Symptoms include shifting lameness and discomfort in the legs. Panosteitis is self-limiting, meaning it usually resolves on its own as the dog matures, typically by 18–24 months. Treatment focuses on managing pain and rest during flare-ups. Hypertrophic Osteodystrophy (HOD) is another painful bone condition seen in fast-growing puppies. It can cause fever, swelling, thickened bones, lameness, and general discomfort. The exact cause isn’t fully understood, but genetics, nutrition, and infections may all play a role. Most dogs improve as they finish growing, and severe cases are treated with medications, rest, and sometimes hospitalization. Surgery is rarely needed. Tide is currently on prednisone to manage inflammation and pain, and he is thriving! Prednisone is generally used during flare-ups or when symptoms are more pronounced. As he grows and his bones stabilize, he may not need medication continuously — likely only intermittently for temporary stiffness during growth spurts. By around 2 years old, he is expected to be completely done with active symptoms from both conditions. Even when he couldn’t walk as a puppy, Tide’s sweet personality shone through. He would drag himself around to enjoy attention from vets and staff, and now he’s a playful, confident, and mischievous pup. He sometimes gets a little stiff during growth spurts, but these flare-ups are temporary, and he responds well to medication and rest. Personality & Temperament Tide is a gentle, loving, and affectionate pup. He’s full of confidence and mischief, loves attention, and thrives in an active environment. Despite his medical history, he is playful, curious, and completely puppy at heart. He enjoys interacting with people and other dogs, and he’s always ready to bring joy and energy into his home. Best Buddies Tide is inseparable from his sister Robin. Whether cuddling up for naps or getting into mischief, these two are always together. We would love to see them adopted as a pair so they can continue sharing adventures and companionship in their forever home. Adoption Details Adoption Fee: $550 Location: Sebec, Maine Families must complete and submit an adoption questionnaire. Once approved, you’ll be invited to schedule an appointment to meet Tide. &#226&#143&#177&#239&#184&#143 Applications are generally processed within 24-48 hours Click here to complete the Adoption Questionnaire Want to See More of Tide? Story
Coby is an energetic 11 year old Belgian Malinois (unsure if purebred) my parents adopted off Craigslist when he was 3. The prior owner said he shouldn't be around cats, and he does have a strong prey drive. He is neutered, chipped, and housebroken, but not crate-trained. When not home, we leave him outside or confined to a space where he can't destroy anything. He has not been around other dogs all these years, except when a loose female passed through (he was happy about that!). He has also not been around small children. When taking him to the vet, we have him ushered straight into an exam room because he's not leash trained and pulls very hard. He is protective of his domain and barks a lot outside. We do not let him near strangers without a slow, carefully overseen introduction. But once he knows you, he is very sweet. LOVES tummy rubs, tug of war, and just being where you are. My father has passed and my elderly mother can no longer physically manage a large dog on her own.

Story
Meet Cliff Cliff is a sweet and affectionate boy who loves nothing more than leaping into your lap for snuggles and love. He's playful and full of joy, especially when there's water involved - he enjoys splashing in the pool or running through the sprinkler on a sunny day! Cliff and his brother have the best time playing hide-and-seek behind the couch and chasing each other in happy circles. Cliff was born in a foster home to his mom Susie. Cliff and his siblings are 4.5 months old, born on June 24th. Cliff would make a wonderful companion for an active family who can match his playful spirit and give him plenty of love. If you're looking for a loyal, fun-loving pup to fill your home with joy, Cliff is ready to make a splash into your heart! PLEASE READ IN ITS ENTIRETY. Our adoption fees vary, according to species, size, age and other issues. Discounts apply in some cases. Our dogs have been dewormed, heartworm tested (if over 6 months), started on heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, vaccinated for bordetella, dhppv, rabies (if age appropriate) and microchipped. If old enough they are spayed or neutered, otherwise it will be noted and under a foster to adopt contract until completed and an additional deposit of $100 will be required- deposit will be refunded upon request and proof of surgery. A transportation fee of $350 is required and covers health certificate to travel as well as transportation. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DOGS BIO ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Before you get attached to me, read all the way to the bottom. You will see that I am still in Texas- My rescue will make all arrangements for me to travel to you as soon as I am adopted. Note: The above bio on the dog reflects the behavior we have observed in the dog's foster home. We provide adopters current information on our dogs; we cannot guarantee they will behave in the same manner in a different environment with new owners. Please be advised that our dogs are adopted to their forever families prior to being transported. Unfortunately, it is not possible to meet the dogs in person prior to adoption. We will Facetime, Zoom and you may speak with the dog foster family. We only send well behaved, well rounded dogs, sending anything other fails the dogs. We expect our dogs to be adopted by families who understand- these are rescue dogs, they will need time to decompress, routine and stability. We put our lives into saving these dogs- we expect their new families to be prepared for a lifetime commitment before applying- dogs are not recyclable. Please do not send an email inquiring about a dog. Please fill out the adoption application found at https://www.rangersreach.org/ We are 100% volunteer ran and you have no clue how bad it is down here; we try as hard as we can to get through applications as fast as possible. If we spend all our time answering inquires and emails, we have no time to look over applications. Please do not apply until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. We do not hold dogs for any reason. We do try to be fair and go in the order applications are received. If no response, decision, or adoption is made we must move on to the next application. Applying for a dog does not guarantee that you will receive that dog

Story
Tini, 5 years old, neutered male, German Shepherd, 73 pounds. He is in a foster home located in HOUSTON, TEXAS and able to transport to an adopter once they are approved. Please note our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we will reach out to coordinate a phone interview. This is followed by a video call with the foster home. Virtual home visit, personal and vet reference checks are required to complete the process. Transport is included in our adoption donation. Meet Tini — the sweetest little gentleman who is ready to become someone’s perfect companion! Tini is a calm, respectful pup who gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He has a low-energy play style and is great at reading cues, always recognizing when another dog is ready to stop playing. He has spent time around medium to large dogs and greets them with friendly, relaxed manners. When out on leash, he typically pays other dogs no mind and just keeps moving along. Tini has also been around cats and stays curious but respectful, especially when given direction. While he hasn’t lived with children, his gentle nature suggests he would adapt well in the right household. In the home, Tini is a dream. He is fully house-trained and handles crate time calmly, though he doesn’t need crating at all — he can be trusted in the house without supervision. Tini has shown no resource guarding with food, treats, or toys and enjoys sharing space politely. His energy level is low to moderate, and while he would enjoy some activity in a home, he doesn’t require another dog to be happy. He’s well-behaved whether alone or with people, and he’s great in the car too! Tini is affectionate, smart, curious, and cuddly. One of his sweetest quirks is the soft, happy little noise he makes when receiving kisses and snuggles. He tends to follow his favorite person from room to room and is such a well-mannered boy that he doesn’t even jump up on the furniture. He would be a wonderful addition to many types of homes, though an active family with a moderate lifestyle might be the best fit given his age and temperament. If you’re looking for a loving, well-behaved, no-fuss pup who brings quiet joy and loyal companionship into the home, Tini just might be your perfect match. We are looking for a home who has breed experience. We will note due to his larger size, his adoption donation covers the extra cost to transport him. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt him?
