Story
Currently in Vancouver!!! Meet Huchu – Searching for His Forever Home Age: 4 years Weight: 28kg Sex: Neutered male Color: Black & white Huchu’s story is heartbreaking—he was once on the euthanasia list at a city shelter in 2022, his life nearly taken before it truly began. Thankfully, he was rescued, and since then he’s been waiting quietly, hoping someone would finally see him and give him the love he deserves. Despite what he’s been through, Huchu’s gentle soul shines through. He’s polite with people and dogs, calm on walks, fully house-trained, and shows no signs of separation anxiety. At home, he’s quiet and non-destructive, happy just to be near you. He even allows his paws to be touched and stays calm during cleaning—always patient, always trusting. He’s also an excellent traveler, hopping into the car with ease and riding peacefully by your side. He adapts beautifully to home life—content, low-maintenance, and so easy to love. Gentle with a cat! Huchu has already lost so much, but he hasn’t lost hope. What he needs now is a family who will give him the security he’s been waiting for, someone who will promise him forever. Please open your heart and consider adopting Huchu. He has been waiting far too long, and he deserves to finally come home. Send in your application through our website! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.KAISER was found as a local stray and came into the rescue as a foster-to-adopt to give him the best chance of settling into the first living home he’s ever known. He’s received his first vaccine and a microchip and will receive his rabies shot in about 2 weeks time as his vet felt it would be best to give it to him later due to how skinny he is, he also had Revolution. Other than being on the skinny side, our vet deemed him a healthy boy. The size he’ll grow to be is just an educated guess based as we have no info on either of his parents. He’s more than likely a mixed breed but what he could be mixed with we have no idea as there’s nothing obvious as to what second breed he can be. He’s an energetic boy who’s just starting to play with a few toys and figuring out what fun they are. He’s very good natured and enjoys being around people and he follows his foster around the house.  KAISER is crate trained and sleeps quietly in it at night and will nap in it during the day too. He is house trained and will let you know when he has to go outside for a bathroom break. He’s just started to go on leash walks and he gets excited when he knows he’s going outside for a walk.  He’s quite food motivated which makes it so easy to train him and he already has down pat “sit” and “wait” plus “gentle” for his treats. He hasn’t met any children so we are saying if there’s any in the home they should be 12 plus. He does require a fenced-in yard so he can run around and play safely.  KAISER’s ideal family would be an active one that loves to go on hikes and walks in the woods. He does well in a vehicle so will always be up for a drive and especially if it leads to an adventure for him. He’ll do well in a home with other dogs as he’s fostered with other dogs and does well with them so would suit being in a home with one. He’s not met a cat but seeing as he’s still a puppy he should be okay with one but their meetings should be carefully monitored and he should be kept leashed for the initial few introductions. He would do well as an only pet in the home provided he’s not left alone for long periods of time.  Puppies are cute, playful and fun but also require a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. We do need his adopter to be in agreement to take him for puppy/obedience training to help him to become the best boy possible. His neuter is included in his adoption fee and his potential adopter must be in agreement to have him neutered by the time he’s 9 months of age or 60lbs, whichever comes first. We book the surgery and it will be at the Barrie SPCA but you can use your own vet and we’ll reimburse you what we would’ve paid for it there. In order for the rescue to do so we need the neuter requirements to still be followed plus a copy of the procedure invoice and a recent photo of him (preferably in his cone) in order to do the reimbursement. We do post the photo on our fb page along with other pets that were “fixed” in the same week.  If KAISER sounds like he’ll suit your family and lifestyle then please submit an adoption application to meet him.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 12, 2025, 5:32 pm
