Meet Brownie! 👑🐾 Brownie is a 1½-year-old, 42-pound Shepherd mix who is sweet, energetic, affectionate, and absolutely convinced the world revolves around her! ❤️ And honestly… she may have a point. 😉 Brownie’s story began when someone found her as a puppy in South Texas in horrible condition. She was covered in fleas and ticks, frightened, and in desperate need of help. Thankfully, her finders took her in and gave her a chance. But as Brownie grew, so did her puppy energy. Her family realized they weren’t prepared for the energy and needs of a young dog and considered taking her to the pound. Rather than allow this sweet girl to face an uncertain future, they chose to surrender her to a wonderful sanctuary where she would be safe. Brownie has now been at the sanctuary for seven months, and sadly, no one has chosen her yet. And it’s absolutely no fault of her own. 💔 Brownie is a wonderful girl who is ready for a family that will appreciate her big personality, give her plenty of love, and keep her busy with all the things she enjoys. 👑 Meet the Diva Brownie is sweet, energetic, affectionate, and definitely knows what she wants! She is a vocal girl and will happily let you know when something doesn’t meet her very high Queen Brownie standards. 😂 Does she like something? She’ll tell you. Does she NOT like something? Oh, you’ll definitely hear about that too! She has a wonderfully expressive personality and a funny little diva streak that will keep her family laughing. Brownie loves attention and firmly believes that she should be the center of yours. ❤️ 🐕 Dog Friendly Brownie loves other dogs and would be perfectly happy sharing her home with another canine companion. That said, she would also be completely fine as your one-and-only dog. As long as she has her people, plenty of attention, and opportunities to play, Brownie is happy. 👧 Great with Kids Brownie would do well with children and would love having kids around to play with and shower her with attention. 🐱 Cats Brownie has not yet been formally cat-tested, but given her sweet and social demeanor, we believe she may do well with cats. A proper introduction and supervision would, of course, be important. 🏡 Working on Her House Manners Brownie is crate-trained and is currently working on mastering her house training. She’s a smart young girl who just needs a family willing to continue helping her learn. With patience, consistency, and a regular routine, Brownie should continue making great progress. 🥾 An Active Girl Looking for an Active Family Brownie has energy to burn and would love a family who enjoys walks, adventures, playtime, and outdoor activities. She enjoys her walks and would do wonderfully with regular neighborhood walks. She also loves playing with toys and would be thrilled to have a family who wants to spend time playing with her. A second chance Cinderella story Sometimes the new beginnings in life for the puppies in this world are not the warm and fuzzy starts we wish for them. Gunnerman's story began in the hands of a homeless person who had temporary housing but unfortunately did not have the resources to provide this young puppy with the veterinary care and stability he needed. Gunnerman had a wound on his face that required medical attention, and thankfully, he received the care he desperately needed only to soon afterward have his owner get evicted.  The call came to us that Gunnerman was now outside with his owner and nowhere to go with no safe place to call home. That is when Critter Cavalry Rescue stepped in again, along with a kind foster dad who opened his heart and home to this handsome brindle boy. Together, we are determined to give Gunnerman the second chance he deserves and find him a strong, dog-savvy family who understands his needs and will surround him with love, guidance, and the steadfast certainty that his future will be a good one.We believe Gunnerman is a Malinois Shepherd mix, a type of Shepherd that many people may not be familiar with. Malinois are known for their intelligence, loyalty, athleticism, and incredible devotion to their people. They are quick learners and form very strong bonds with the humans they love. Gunner is already showing us those wonderful qualities at just about four months old.This boy is a lover of people and other creatures. We have not had the opportunity to introduce him to cats yet, but because he is still so young and has such a friendly, open personality, we believe that with the proper introduction, he could potentially become a cat's best friend and protector. Of course, any cat introduction would need to be done carefully and responsibly.Gunnerman has plenty to learn about life, but one thing he already does beautifully is bond with his person. He greets new experiences with curiosity, interest, and a happy smile. This boy is definitely not a shrinking violet! Gunnerman is ready to march off into the day with excitement and anticipation for whatever fun and adventure comes next.We anticipate that Gunnerman will grow into a handsome 50-pound adult, and we believe he is going to be one of the most loyal companions a family could ask for. He started life without the security and stability every puppy deserves, but his story is changing now. Wylder is 3 years old, spayed, and is a sweet dog as long as she is properly introduced to humans. She is not good with most other dogs or animals. She was raised with a 6 year old German shepherd male, however that is the only dog she tolerates well. She has a strong prey drive when it comes to animals like squirrels and rabbits. Otherwise, Wylder is house trained, crate trained, and behaves well when left alone for long periods of time (even outside of her crate). She is not food aggressive or reactive to anything other than strangers in and around her house or other animals. She is good with kids she has met. She is a very sweet dog who loves her humans and fetch with her tennis ball. I unfortunately need to rehome her as she does not get along with my husband’s dog, and I am pregnant and it is getting difficult to keep the dogs separated. She would do best in a home where she is the only animal. She is very smart and loving and I hope someone can give her a better home!

Meet Roo!Roo is an approximately 2-month-old Malinois mix who came to us as a stray, extremely emaciated and in need of care. She’s now getting the food, medical attention, and love she needs to grow healthy and strong.Through it all, Roo has been the sweetest girl. She has so much love to give, and she’s already showing how smart she is! She’s learning potty training and crate training and does great with other dogs, cats, and kids.Once Roo reaches a healthy weight, she’ll be scheduled for her spay. She will be up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, spayed, and microchipped before adoption.
