Story
I took Athena in when she was 7 months old. Her original owner passed unexpectedly and the family that took her in had 5 other dogs. Her food was being taken by the other dogs and the family couldn't not keep up with her. I took her in because I could. But life changed and im away 12 hrs a day. She is good with other animals and people. She has NOT shown any aggression. She very active and needs room to run. She likes car rides and being around people. She does lack self confidence. She is current on on shots but was going to wait until her second heat before getting her fixed. She is very lovable with a sweetheart. I really don't want to see her go, but it's not fair to her not being able to get the training and exercise she needs. I have her shot records but nothing to prove her is pure breed.

Story
Seeking a highly qualified foster or adopter looking for a working or sport dog. Lycan is trained in German, knows bite work, has high ball drive, and was scheduled for euthanasia before we stepped in. Seeing the intelligence behind this dog, we sent him straight to a trainer. They confirmed what we already suspected—someone put real, professional work into him. He reads your hands, responds to commands, and is ready to work. He’s engaged, aware, and looking for direction. Maybe he flunked out of a program. Maybe he got lost. He didn’t have a tag or microchip, so we may never know. While we don’t know his exact breed or mix, some have suggested he may come from KNPV lines. That’s not our area to confirm, but we welcome feedback from those familiar with this type of dog. Aside from his drive, he’s excellent with people. Lycan will give you his paw and roll onto his back the second he meets you. He’s social, confident, and genuinely enjoys interaction. He loves to work. He wants a job. That’s where he’s happiest. Lycan is five years old, about 70 lbs, neutered, heartworm negative, and currently in boarding with a trainer until the right home is found. He’s medium to high drive and currently reactive to male dogs, which is manageable for someone experienced and familiar with dogs like him. We are looking for a specific home: sport, protection, or working, or simply someone who can handle this type of dog. Someone experienced who understands what they’re looking at and actually wants a dog like this. This is not a casual pet. He needs to be engaged and given a job so he can live up to his full potential, because that’s what he truly enjoys. Transport available anywhere in the U.S. to approved applicants. Current location: Houston, TX See #Lycan0192 on Facebook for more info.

Meet Ecko – Your New Best Friend! 🐾 Looking for a smart, sweet, and slightly mischievous sidekick? Meet Ecko, a 3-month-old male Malinois puppy with the perfect mix of playful energy and cuddle bug charm! Ecko loves spending time with his sister, Blu, and is happy to follow her lead during adventures. He's a little calmer than his sister, making him the perfect balance of fun and snuggly. After a good play session, he's always ready to curl up for cuddles. This handsome boy is already off to a fantastic start! He's crate trained, sleeps through the night, is doing great with potty training, knows his name, and comes when called. He's food motivated (treats are definitely the way to his heart!) and eager to learn. Ecko is a toy enthusiast, especially when it comes to large balls and sturdy toys. He also has one adorable quirk—you may occasionally find your socks or shoes mysteriously relocated thanks to this lovable little bandit! 😂 He's been unfazed by neighborhood cats, making him a confident and curious pup. His biggest "enemy"? The vacuum cleaner. His favorite TV show? The American Dog Show, which he watches with surprising enthusiasm! If you're looking for a loyal, intelligent puppy who's ready to grow into an amazing companion, Ecko could be the perfect addition to your family. Ecko is available for adoption through Second Start Rescue. Give this sweet boy the loving home he deserves, and you'll gain a best friend for life! ❤️

Story
IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTING ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. Hi! I'm Jasmine, a 2-month-old German Shepherd puppy with a striking black and tan coat and a whole lot of personality! 🐾 I'm adventurous, affectionate, and energetic — basically a little furball of joy ready to explore the world with you. I'll do great with cats, dogs, and kids, which means I'll fit right into your family pack! 💕 I need a home with a private yard (a single-family home or fully fenced townhome), and since I'm not yet fully vaccinated due to my young age, apartments and condos won't work for me. Come meet this smart, loyal, playful girl — I promise to be your best friend! 🌟 Because this is a young puppy, the adopter must be home during the day to continue training and socialization and help the puppy grow into a confident, well-adjusted dog. This puppy has age-appropriate vaccines, is microchipped and will need to be spayed/neuter at 6 months of age. The Adoption Fee for this puppy $400.00 plus a $100.00 spay/neuter refundable deposit. ***Please note, this pup's immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age and therefore, s/he is not suited for Apartment/Condo living or Town homes without a private fenced yard and will not be able to go to public places where s/he could possibly be exposed to the germs of unvaccinated dogs, such as PetSmart/PetCo and dog parks until s/he is 16 weeks old*** ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee DOES NOT INCLUDE spay/neuter if the pup is not already spayed/neutered. If the animal you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered, you will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered. A $100.00 fee will be returned to the adopter once the animal has been sterilized. We will provide information on this process during the approval process. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs and/or all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So, adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and/or the general appearance of the animal. **Please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

Story
Lady is looking for her forever home. She has been bounced back and forth too much in her short life, and I really want to find the right person who will give her the love, attention, and stability she deserves. My granddad took her in after she was found during an ice storm, but unfortunately, he just doesn’t have enough time to work with her or give her the attention she needs. I believe she has some separation anxiety, so she would do best with someone who has plenty of time for her. Lady is around 2 years old, crate trained, very smart, and incredibly sweet. She is energetic and does jump up on people, but she just wants to love on everyone and be as close and cuddly as possible. She pulls a little on a leash but does pretty well for me. She is wonderful with kids and can be protective of them. She absolutely LOVES car rides—if you open a car door near her, she is ready to jump in! She loves to just lay in the passenger seat and ride wherever you go!

Story
Meet Our Gentle Giant! Looking for a loyal best friend who will be devoted to her people? This beautiful 5-year-old Rottweiler/Shepherd mix is searching for a patient family to call her own. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all of her vaccines. At around 100 pounds, she's a big girl with an even bigger heart! While she can be nervous around new people and will need a couple of meet-and-greets to feel comfortable, once you earn her trust you'll discover the sweetest love bug who just wants to be close to her people. She enjoys car rides and would love a family that includes her in life's adventures. Because she takes time to warm up, we ask that the entire family come to meet her to make sure everyone is comfortable and it's the right fit. She has had multiple litters in the past, and now it's finally her turn to be the one who is loved, spoiled, and cherished. She is unsure about cats, so extremely slow and patient introductions would be essential. She is also unsure with other dogs, and a dog test will be required if there is another dog in the home. If you have a little patience and a lot of love to give, this sweet girl will reward you with unwavering loyalty and endless affection. Could you be the family she's been waiting for?Interested in adopting? Story
Meet Rebel: 80 Pounds of German Shepherd Chaos & Cuddles Rebel is a 6-year-old German Shepherd who apparently missed the memo that he's supposed to be “middle aged.” This guy is operating on full puppy mode 24/7. Zoomies? Yes. Toy enthusiast? Absolutely. Professional car ride passenger with his head out the window like he pays taxes? You bet. His previous owner says he's good with other dogs, but Rebel would still like to schedule a formal “sniff interview,” so dog tests are required. Think of it as canine Tinder, but with less ghosting. Cats? Potentially! Slow introductions are the key because Rebel believes everyone should immediately be his best friend, and not all cats appreciate 80 pounds of enthusiasm arriving at Mach 5. He loves adults but will need a home with older kids. We'd want the whole family to come meet him so everyone can make sure the vibes are right. A few important Rebel facts: -Neutered -Microchipped -Up to date on vaccines -House trained -Crate trained -LOVES car rides -Loves playing outside -Has enough energy to power a small village Rebel's dream home is with an active family ready for adventures, playtime, walks, and helping him channel his inner tornado into fun and appropriate activities. He's basically a furry gym membership with ears. If you're looking for a loyal best friend, adventure buddy, and part-time comedian, Rebel is ready to report for duty. Interested in adopting?
