Story
I adopted Freya from a family earlier this year, waited the recommended 2-3 months before starting her Service Training for Veterans, and then was laid off from work. I have a new job, in a different state and cannot afford to keep her in hotels and kennels when I travel. She is not cuddly, due to her breed, but loves people for short intervals and then does her own thing - so low maintenance. As I did not have a fenced in yard for her to roam, I walk her twice/day for about 20-30 minutes each trip. She is very well crate trained so if you work all day she has never had an issue with my schedule. Thank you if you can take her as I am not able to afford to travel with her beginning November due to my travel schedule. p.s. she does not like cats and apparently was never socialized with other dogs either so I try to avoid them on walks except across the street visits.

STELLA IS IN HER FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN, AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO VA ONCE ADOPTED!   Meet Sweet Stella! Stella is a beautiful 10-month-old Belgian Shepherd/Black Mouth Cur mix, weighing around 45 pounds. She’s a super smart, energetic girl who is always ready for her next adventure! Stella loves zoomies, long walks, and trips to the dog park/doggy daycare. Fetch might still be a mystery to her, but she makes up for it by being an absolute champ at tug-of-war! Once she finally slows down, she turns into the sweetest, most cuddly pup who wants nothing more than to be close to her human.   This bright girl is crate trained, housebroken, and a very quick learner. She’s still working on leash manners—mostly because she thinks you should walk as fast as she does! Stella rides great in the car and settles well once she’s had her play time.   Stella hasn’t been fully tested with cats, as the cats in her foster home aren’t fans of dogs. She would do great with kids and could thrive as the only dog in the home, or with a confident, playful dog sibling. She would love a home with room to run or a human who enjoys staying active with her.   Stella is a loving, joyful, silly girl who will bring so much happiness to the lucky family who chooses her. She’s ready to be your adventure buddy—and your cuddle buddy too! She is fully vetted. Vetting includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies and all puppy vaccinations. Her adoption fee of $600 includes the transport to VA. Loki is up for ADOPTION! He came to us as an owner surrender due to housing issues, which we are encountering more and more of these days, it seems like. He needs socialization and a confidence boost, but he has gotten along with other pups so far! He's pretty terrified in the shelter, but once he goes out into the play yard, his free spirit opens right up! He's still a bit timid, but he's a smart cookie and should be a cinch to train! Meet our Roxie (FKA Rosita—one of our adorable muppet babies)! This sweet, sassy, and spunky girl is now 4.5 months old, weighs about 45 lbs, and is ready to bounce her way into your heart. A German Shepherd/Border Collie mix with a big personality and an even bigger cuddle quota, Roxie is the perfect mix of playtime energy and snuggle-time charm. Roxie was recently returned after being a bit too much fun for the older dog in her previous home, but don’t let that fool you. She’s a total sweetheart who loves other dogs, does wonderfully with kids, and has even spent time in our cat room (she gets excited around the kitties, so a cat-savvy home would be best!). Roxie tries to keep her kennel tidy, but changes in routine tend to unsettle her, so she will need some time to decompress and adjust to a new home. With patience and consistency, she will learn her new household’s routine and settle in beautifully.
