Story
Meet our Roxie (FKA Rosita—one of our adorable muppet babies)! This sweet, sassy, and spunky girl is now 4.5 months old, weighs about 45 lbs, and is ready to bounce her way into your heart. A German Shepherd/Border Collie mix with a big personality and an even bigger cuddle quota, Roxie is the perfect mix of playtime energy and snuggle-time charm. Roxie was recently returned after being a bit too much fun for the older dog in her previous home, but don’t let that fool you. She’s a total sweetheart who loves other dogs, does wonderfully with kids, and has even spent time in our cat room (she gets excited around the kitties, so a cat-savvy home would be best!). Roxie tries to keep her kennel tidy, but changes in routine tend to unsettle her, so she will need some time to decompress and adjust to a new home. With patience and consistency, she will learn her new household’s routine and settle in beautifully.

Story
Hi! I'm Shiloh, a young pup full of energy and love. Each day, I learn new tricks quickly because I'm super smart! Playing fetch is my favorite, and I'm always ready for a game. I love meeting new friends, both furry and human, and I greet everyone with a wagging tail. I'm also quite brave; nothing really scares me! I dream of a home where I can share all my love and fun. If you're looking for a sweet, playful companion, I'm the perfect pup for you! Let's make wonderful memories together. Adoption Process If you are ready to meet the pet, please fill out an online adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your internet browser: https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/10666/generic Once your application is submitted, we will contact the vet reference provided. If you do not yet have a vet, please provide three personal references – these could be family and friends who can attest to your pet parenting skills. A volunteer will schedule a phone interview with you. The interview and application help our fosters find their forever home by ensuring a good match.   The Louisa Humane Society does not have a brick and mortar facility, so all of our pets are in foster care. Once approved, the foster parent will reach out to arrange a visit. The foster family can tell you all about her likes, dislikes, and little quirks.  The application and visit do not oblige you to adopt, but if you’re ready to take the pet home as your furry forever friend, the adoption fee is $150 ##2511573##

Story
Brino is a soft-hearted sweetheart. This shy guy is a certified shadow dog, quietly following you from room to room like your gentle, four-legged sidekick. He may not be the life of the party (yet), but he's working hard on building confidence and learning that the world isn’t such a scary place. Bruno recently spent time in a foster home where he made leaps and bounds. Once he trusts you, you’ll have a loyal companion who finds comfort just being by your side and asking for head pets. This boy loves going on hikes in the woods and is house trained! If you're patient, gentle, and looking for a quiet friend to love, Bruno is ready to follow you home—at a hopeful trot. 💛🐾 Bruno is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all of his vaccinations. You can meet him at the CASPCA between the hours of 12 and 6 PM daily, no appointment necessary. If you have any additional questions, please email adoptions@caspca.org.

Story
Meet Jet! ✈️ This handsome guy is a 2–3-year-old German Shepherd mix who came into our program after a very unfortunate situation. Jet was part of a hoarding case over the summer — but lucky for him, he found his way to DDBBR and is now loving life in his foster home! You’d never guess that Jet spent most of his young life trapped in an outdoor kennel with no door — no way in or out. His personality couldn’t be more different from the life he came from. Jet is outgoing, goofy, and incredibly friendly. He loves meeting people and other dogs — playing, romping, and soaking up all the attention. Jet has attended adoption events and is always polite and social. He’s a total pro at public outings and even rides in the sidecar of his foster’s motorcycle — talk about a cool dog! One of our favorite things about Jet? His ears! They go every which way and give him the funniest, most endearing expressions. As much as Jet loves his foster home, it’s time for him to find his forever home. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving, and adventurous companion, Jet might just be your guy! Apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DDBB/Dog to learn more about Jet!

Gypsy Was born 10-08-23. Very toy motivated. Typical GS personality. Loves playing with her kids. Car rides. Great problem solving skills. knows some basic commands. She will greet you at the door an tell you all about the unauthorized squirrel in the backyard, and remind you when it's time for cuddles an netflix. We can't Afford to keep her due to picking up a second job. The only reason im asking a rehoming fee is to cover some of the cost of the listings.
