Story
If you want a 5-year-old, confident, beautiful, black and tan, playful, female German Shepherd, look no further because today is your lucky day!  Rosalita was initially was rescued at the age of 9 months old when her owner found her abandoned at the school where she taught. Rosie was not a good fit with the small dog in residence so she came into rescue and was adopted by a nice person with no other dogs. She lived there happily, chasing balls and butterflys, until her person passed away. Now she's back in rescue. She likes adults and children, is intelligent and food motivated. She can sit, heel, and wait for release before eating which, given her attraction to food, is a very difficult trick. She is crate trained, housetrained and walks well on a leash. She does have a dislike for the mailman and is happy that he leaves when she barks. Rosalita loves toys and will entertain herself with or without anyone around.  She is always up for adventures in the car and is usually pretty good, especially if riding on the passenger side. She can sometimes get agitated by other dogs on leash, and sometimes doesn't care, the smaller ones are the worst. She will chase cats, for the fun of it. She is a Level 3 dog.  July 28, 2026, 2:26 pm

Story
Guten Tag (Hello in German) I am Josie, a very smart, 70 lbs., three-year-old girl, with classic GSD coloring.  My fosters have been very patient with me. When they have guests, I love to meet and play with them. I was enrolled in a training program to improve my behavior around other dogs while on walks. I have improved, but still need practice. I understand heel, stay, and sit, the basics of being a good girl. I am working on being a better passenger, learning to relax and not get overly excited. Some of my favorite things are walks, playing with my toys, and napping in the sun. I love when my foster parents say, “Get a toy, Josie, and let’s play.” I run over to my toy box and throw a few out until I find my favorite. I have access to the yard through a doggie door, so my foster parents don’t have to get up to take me out to relieve myself. At night, I am not crated, although I have access to it. I quietly check on my family. I am very good at getting into my crate when they need to go shopping or to other appointments. I just nap and wait for them to return with lots of kisses. My best home would be with active people. I have never been around children, so I cannot say how I might behave. It will be best for me to be the only dog. I am really looking for a committed family because I know I have lots of potential and want an opportunity to prove how loving and wonderful I can be. If I sound like the girl you are looking for, I would love to meet you. You can ask my foster parents any questions you may have about me. I know they will miss me, but we are all excited for me to find my forever family.July 28, 2026, 2:26 pm
