Story
Hi there, I’m Sadie! I’m an adorable German Shepherd puppy, although some might mistake me for a teddy bear. I was born in September 2024, and I’m already stealing hearts everywhere I go! I was rescued from an LA shelter, and now I’m settling in with my amazing foster family. So far, everyone says I’m super cute, friendly, and full of puppy energy—I just love staying busy! Whether I’m exploring my surroundings or chasing after toys, I’ve got a curious and playful spirit that keeps me on the move. Since I’m still getting to know my foster family (and they’re getting to know me), there’s so much more to share about my personality. Keep an eye out for updates as I show them just how sweet, smart, and loving I am! I can’t wait to find my forever family. Maybe it’s you? Stay tuned! Sadie is a level 4 dog and her adopters will need to be puppy approved January 24, 2025, 4:19 pm

Story
Meet Your New Best Friend: Hallelujah ! Say hello to “Halle”, a sweet and bouncy year old pup with a heart full of love and a playful spirit. Halle is the kind of dog who makes you smile just by being her happy, goofy self. She’s a social butterfly with other dogs and has a great sense of humor when playing or learning her boundaries—she’s quick to take corrections and bounce right back with a wagging tail. Halle loves a good game of fetch, but she’s not overly obsessed—she’ll happily move on to the next fun thing. She’s curious about cats and, with positive guidance, is on track to being a very good kitty companion. At about 90% house-trained, Halle is working hard on her potty skills and does great with a dog door. She’ll need a little extra patience in homes without one, but she’s eager to learn and make her people happy. Her first home didn’t give her many options for going outside, so she’s adjusting to this new routine like a champ. This snuggle bug adores human touch and will happily curl up with you for pets and cuddles. She can be a little nervous around new people, especially men, but with patience and reassurance, she warms up quickly. Halle is also getting more comfortable with car rides—she may not love hopping in at first, but once she’s settled, she’s just fine. If you’re looking for a soft, snuggly, and fun-loving companion who’s great with dogs, shows promise with cats, and will be your loyal friend for life, Halle might just be the perfect match for you. Come meet this darling girl and see if she’s the missing piece to your family! Halle is a level 3 dog January 15, 2025, 2:41 pm

Story
Bebe is a beautiful 3-year-old rescue who is embracing her new life as an indoor family pet after spending her early years outdoors. Estimated to have been born in early March 2022, she was found tied to a park bench by Animal Control officers who immediately recognized her potential. Today, this sweet girl is making incredible progress in her foster home and is eager to find a loving forever family. Bebe is already housebroken and is learning to use a crate. At night, she sleeps peacefully on a bed next to her foster mom. She’s a well-mannered girl—she doesn’t dig or bark but occasionally enjoys a good chew, so she’ll want a toy or two to keep her entertained. One of Bebe’s favorite activities is going on neighborhood walks, where her curious nature shines. She alerts to deer, birds, and squirrels but isn’t overly reactive. She also attends doggy daycare and gets along wonderfully with all the dogs in her playgroup! While we don’t know how she is around cats, her moderate prey drive suggests she’d need careful introductions. Because Bebe spent her early life without much human interaction or training, she’s still learning the basics. But she’s a blank slate, eager to learn, and food-motivated when high-value treats are involved! She’s already making amazing strides in trusting people and is becoming more affectionate each day in her foster home. Bebe is a resilient, loving pup who deserves a second chance at a life filled with love and companionship. Could you be the one to give her the forever home she’s been waiting for? If you're interested in adopting Bebe, reach out today and give this special girl the home she deserves! Bebe is a level 3 dog March 29, 2025, 6:41 pm

Story
Meet Nala! Nala is a beautiful one-year-old female German Shepherd, born in February 2024. An owner surrender, she is an affectionate, energetic and intelligent young pup looking for a loving home where she has plenty of space to romp and play. Nala is housebroken and rides well in the car, making her a great companion for adventures. Like most young German Shepherds, she’s full of boundless energy and curiosity! For this reason, we think she would do best in a home with older children. Nala is protective and will alarm bark to let you know when something’s up. She also loves to chew, so she’ll need plenty of durable toys to keep her busy. However, she doesn’t dig—just a playful pup eager to learn and explore. With little formal training, Nala will need an owner with GSD experience so she blossoms into the best canine ever. Having lived with a pit-bull, she may just love having another playmate but is lacking socialization skills —that's where you come in. No cats for this girl! If you're looking for an energetic, affectionate, intelligent, and fun-loving companion, Nala might be the perfect addition to your family! This youngster is new to our program - stay tuned for updates as we get to know her better. Nala is a level 3 dogMay 12, 2025, 3:34 pm

Story
My name is Shadow Nose and I just know someone is out there for me! Shadow is a perfect sized 53 lb., spayed, 3 year old well-adjusted girl who was recently diagnosed with maegosophalus*. She is friendly and comfortable around adults, strangers, children, and other dogs. To everyone's delight, not only is she adorable, but Shadow Nose is affectionate, energetic, outgoing, and curious. Check out Shadow Nose tossing her toy around! Shadow is crate trained and can be left alone without incident. She does not nuisance bark, or dig, and is happy to keep herself occupied when she has toys to play with. Our evaluator found Shadow to be relaxed while watching her in a sit, stand, and stay position as well as walking on a leash. This cutie rolled over for belly rubs before hopping up with a big smile and wagging tail hoping to entice our volunteer in a game of fetch. Shadow has some formal training and responds well to many verbal commands. Given her sweet demeanor, it should not take long to transform her from being a mildly mannered playful pup to your loyal loving companion. GSRNC and Shadow Nose knows the perfect home is out there. Is it yours? Shadow is a level 3 special needs dog. *Megaesophagus is a condition that decreases mobility in the muscles of the esophagus which interferes with proper swallowing movement. As a result, Shadow will need a special family who can feed her in a Bailey's Chair (provided by GSRNC) every time she eats. The Bailey's chair is constructed with the primary goal of positioning the dog upright during meals, allowing gravity to aid in the digestion process.  October 26, 2024, 6:53 pm

Story
Hi there! My name is Charlie S, and I’m a one-year-old German Shepherd mix with a heart as big as my paws—and at nearly 70 pounds, that’s saying something! I’m a happy, easy-going guy who greets everyone I meet with a waggy tail and a big ol’ smile. People, dogs—I love them all! I even met some cats and wasn’t too interested, so with a little patience, I might be just fine sharing a home with one. Even though I’m still young and new to this whole “training” thing, I already know how to “sit” and “down,” and I’m working on my “down-stay.” I walk nicely on leash, especially if you have cookies (treats are kind of my thing). I’m crate trained and sleep quietly through the night. I ride great in the car and am always ready for an adventure. I’ve got a playful, curious side and like to explore the world with my nose. I can be a little stubborn if I’ve got my heart set on something (hey, I’m a shepherd mix!), but I’m very trainable—especially if snacks are involved. I’m still a puppy at heart, so sometimes I dig or chew things I shouldn't, but I’m easy to redirect with a toy or bone. Now, let’s talk about cuddles—because I’m basically a professional. I love being close to my people and will happily try to curl up in your lap, even if I don’t quite fit. I get excited when I meet new friends and I’m learning not to jump up to say hello. I’ll let you know if I hear something unusual, but I’m not a noisy guy. See Charlie lovin' up 2-leggeds & 4-leggeds! If you’re looking for a mellow, affectionate pup with a playful streak and a lot of love to give, I might just be your perfect match. June 23, 2025, 3:58 pm
