Dog meet and greets are by appointment only, please answer the questions below the bio, either through Petfinder, Adopt-A-Pet, rescueme.org or by directly e-mailing us at shelter@hbpets.org. Please be patient, we try to get back to everyone quickly. Hi there, I'm Wendy! I'm just a young adult, almost 2 1/2yrs old, full of life and love. I'm sweet as can be, always ready to give you a big doggy kiss. I love water, and fetching my toys from the kiddie pool! I'm loyal, too. I'll always be by your side, ready to lend a paw. I'm a bit goofy, always ready to make you laugh with my silly antics. I'm smart, too. I've learned so many tricks and I'm always eager to learn more. I'm curious about the world around me, always ready to explore. I'm friendly with everyone I meet, and I'm a cuddly pup who loves a good snuggle. I would love to find a forever home where I can share all these wonderful traits. If you're looking for a sweet, playful, loyal, and loving companion, I'm your girl! Wendy's has played with a lot of different types of dogs from Huskies to Malamutes to German Shepherds, her current play buddy is Luca (he is up for adoption too)!! I just got done with a 3 week train and board with Marvin Pierce Dog Teacher and I am very excited to show my new owner, what I have learned. I am a no cat and no young children (under 10yrs) kind of girl! My adoption fee is $250, includes spay, microchip, vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment and 1pound bag of food. 1. Do you have a privately fenced yard? 2. How many humans and ages live in your home? 3. How many animals and types? 4. Do you have time for daily walks or jogs? 5. Are you active, hiking etc? 6. Do you have the time for brushing? 7. Do you have the time to give her hugs and kisses? 8. Have you owner a German Shepard before, if so please tell us about them. 9. What would a typical Wendy day be like?

Story
Benny has been with his fosters in Salem OR since arriving on transport. They nicknamed him nudge as when he wants attention he comes over and gives a little nudge. He’s bonded extremely well his foster dad and enjoys the company on everyone in the home. He does awesome in his kennel and on potty training and is even showing interest in playing with toys. He has a sweet and docile temperament with no signs of aggression or resource guarding. He also has been doing extremely well with his recall when called to come back inside from outside play or potty time! Benny will make a great family dog but I also think could thrive in a home with other dogs to keep him company.

Story
Bear is a timid but sweet dude. Our hopes for his forever home is to have the company of another dog friendly dog as well as children. He LOVES kids and they provide him a lot of comfort. Bear was in a temp foster for 2 weeks and now in a more permanent one in Salem and in both homes he’s made constant gains in knowing that he is safe and the humans around him are safe. Bear is timid but not aggressive in the slightest. He’s shown no resource guarding issues and is learning to potty train and use the doggy door. He sleeps peacefully in the kennel through the night and enjoys the company of his foster brother during the day. He’s even starting to cuddle with his foster moms. He adores his foster kid brother and even got to be apart of having a group of kids over to their house where he shelled out kisses and asked for pets with little nudges. Bear will make an incredible family dog and settles in very quick. He over all has a very chill personality with the occasional play zoomies with his furr-foster brother Yetti. From Bears Foster mama: “I know I’m shy, but I’m still learning that humans are my friends. If you can be patient with me, I promise I’ll warm up to you and be your best friend! My favorite things are yummy treats, laying in the kitchen with you while you cook, snuggling at your feet in the bed, chewing a bone and playing with a tennis ball. My foster families have been so wonderful, patient, kind and encouraging, but I’m starting to feel more confident and think I’m ready to find my very own furever home!”
