Story
I have two female Malinois/german shepherd pups. Both from the same litter, they are about 1 1/2 years old. They are incredible dogs, they are incredibly loving. Rose is especially affectionate and Bella is incredibly athletic. They both love to play together. They are by far the best dogs I’ve ever had. I took these pups in because they were in a bad home at 5 months old. It wasn’t something I processed. I am a single mom of three kids, and my finances are not in a place where I have been able to give them all the care they need. I haven’t been able to get them all their shots, I gave them their first and second round of shots from Wilco. But they never got their rabies shots. They have never been chipped or taken to the vet. I struggle with getting their nails clipped. And they’ve been struggling with a flea problem. They also have not been fixed yet due to my finances. This has been a tough decision, but I am wanting to find a home that can care for them and love them.

Story
Rebel is an amazing dog. I have had him since he was 3 years old. He currently is 7, turns 8 in March. I am his second owner, his first owner got him while he was deployed over seas in Germany. Rebel has all his papers and has his own passport. I got him due to his previous owner having two children under the age of two and not having the time to take care of a energetic young dog at the same time. I need to rehome him due to my own living situation. I can not afford a home with a pet fee and properly give him the care he deserves and needs. I would like Rebel to go to a home with another dog or an owner who works remote he's never not had a companion. He needs a yard, he may be older and not as energetic but he loves to be outside and get his zoomies out. Rebel is very affectionate, loyal, gentle, playful, and out. Rebel will always make you smile when you least expect it.

Harlow is VERY sweet and full of energy. She needs and experienced owner who knows this breed. She loves to work and play!! She is learning everyday and does great! NO young kids as she does NOT know her strength yet and may knock them down. She needs a fenced yard to run and play in.

Blitz…or as we call her …Blitz-a-rooni is the total package. She was found on the streets in horrific shape …mange and secondary skin infections which actually left her unidentifiable as a breed…one in a home and understanding no one was going to hurt her she quickly flourished. The beautiful part of the mange is meds and quality nutrition healed her physically in no time…almost to where she doesn’t even look like the same dog…then she learned the ins and outs of a home and sharing life with other 2 legged and 4 legged…she figured out fluffy blankets right away and determined they were a definite requirement in her home…LOL She had resource guarding of her food which was not real issue as we feed our dogs in crate …but she also does very well with getting treats etc or even the shared ice cube in our home. I don’t blame her for being a little selfish when it comes to food..as it was evident she had to be protective to survive. She has turned out to be a definite chug butt ..solid and smaller in stature she is a briick of love. We have 3 Malinois and my husband kept saying she looks mal and I did not agree lol so we did a DNA and I’ll be darned if she isn’t 50 percent Belgian Malinois…What I see in this is a smart girl…but without the anxiety of the mal breed…which is a huge blessing I feel like she is the bestt of all her breeds …lol..she is fabulous in crate…I simply tell her to go to her room and she doesn’t make a peep. She is a bit of a Velcro dog and just wants to be with her person. She is easy on leash and would be amazing to work and train. Her activity level is moderate and she gets definite zoomies…does great with all my dogs but is best with dogs her size or larger. Her prey drive for smaller is intact. She loves kids but I always recommend with the power and intelligence older kids. She has definitely found her diva side…loving all things soft, blankets, rugs, towels, all things stuffy toys and if you are close by she will snuggle right in. The only thing she doesn’t like is when in crate and you are a stranger and you stare at her…but out of crate loves with all her chunkiness. Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $500 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
A Sweet Litter of Puppies!! A little group of 5 puppies were brought into the rescue as bottle babies. Their mom had died, and they were too young to eat on their own. So, they came to the rescue to be fed and to grow! They were born about December 2nd, and are now off the bottle, eating kibble well and growing like proverbial weeds! Their days are a cycle of eating, sleeping, pooing, playing and repeat…typical puppy behavior at this age! They will get second shots and surgery in early February and will be able to go home after that. Dark Chocolate is my name, and I am just one of the boys! I love to wrestle and play with my 3 brothers and my little sister. And like the rest, foster mom gave the nickname of ‘Chockie Chip’. Guess my name is a little long to say all the time. I have coloring like the Belgian Malinois breed and since mom was a shepherd mix, who knows? I may end up looking like one of those guys. But I have a wonderful personality and am not that bossy right now, just a goofy playful puppy. Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

These pups are in McMinnville, Oregon too!

Thank you for your interest in one of our amazing dogs, please how our meet and greets work. We are by appointment only, all our meet and greets are outside on the same property as the shelter, under our covered, fenced area, so we must schedule appointments. If a dog is on our website, it is available for adoption. We do not schedule multiple meetings with different people for the dog on the same day. We do meet and greets Tuesday-Saturday, no night meets. We have questions at the bottom of each dog’s bio, by answering the questions in your inquiry, you help move things along, it is okay if you do not, we will send an e-mail back to you with those questions. It does not matter if you are a homeowner or renter, but please check with your rental company for breed and weight restrictions. If this will be an ESA dog, get approval from your rental company first. Our dogs are listed on Petfinder (purchased by Purina), Adopt-a-pet and rescueme.org or you can e-mail us directly at shelter@hbpets.org with questions about the dog, please be sure to say who you are asking about. Lastly, we do review all applicants, so if you are looking to get a dog today or in the next 24 hours, we may not be the right place, by taking a little more time and reviewing we have decreased our yearly dog returns to 1%. We get back to everyone as quickly as possible, sending multiple inquires or calling multiple times, will not change the process, if you don’t get a reply e-mail within 72hrs, check your spam and junk folder, if there is nothing please e-mail us directly at shelter@hbpets.org. Hi I am Max, I am 3yrs 7mth old, neutered male, German Shepard/Husky Mix. My old owner took wonderful care of me. . Max is a very sweet dog, he loves to play and run around our field, he would love to be the only animal in the house so he can get all the love. I love to go for walks and am a very good walking buddy, I know lots of commands and my recall is almost perfect. I do need a home with a large fenced yard or acreage, as that is what I am used too. Apartment or no yard life is not for me. My adoption fee is $225, includes vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment and 1pound bag of food. 1. Do you have a privately fenced yard? 2. How many humans and ages live in your home? 3. How many animals and types? 4. Do you have time for daily walks? 5. Have you ever owned a large breed dog? I am 97 pounds! 6. What would a typical day be like for me?

Story
Lola is a 5 1/2 year old pure German Shepherd. She will do best in a single-dog family. She is an absolute sweetheart. Will sit up on her bum on the couch so you can give her belly rubs. She was my Mother-In-Laws treasure, and she unexpectedly passed away. She is used to being and wants to be an only child. She is great with the grandkids, knows basic commands, she doesn't chew on anything other than toys. She is crate trained as well.
