Hi, I`m Lumberjack! I`m about 2 years old and weigh 84 pounds.Do you like...Dogs? I`ve done okay meeting dogs at the shelter. Bring any dogs from your home to meet me.Cats? I may do okay in a home with cats. Slow and proper introductions would be a must in order to set me up for success. Ask staff for introduction handouts.Kids? I am big guy and don`t want to knock anyone over accidentally. (10+) Bring any kids from the home to meet me!Anything else you`d like us to know, Lumberjack? I`m a sweet, young guy looking for an active, loving forever home!I came into the shelter as a stray and the above information is all recommendations based on my behavior seen at the shelter. I have no known history. Expect to learn more about me after adoption.My adoption fee includes my spay/neuter, current vaccinations, permanent microchip identification, certificate for a free veterinary exam, post-adoption support and more!Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me! Pilot was found on 2/18/26 at the 3200 block of Main St. in Springfield. It is unknown at this time if he is neutered. If you believe this is your missing dog, please contact the shelter at (541) 689-1503. Since this dog is new to the shelter and we are still looking for their family, they are not viewable on the adoption floor at this time.The shelter staff is giving me some time to settle in and adjust to this new place. As we get to know each other a little better, the behavior team and veterinary staff will then be evaluating my needs. Please stay tuned for my updated information!Our shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable and for most dogs we are only guessing at their primary breed. Buck is located in the Portland area. He's being fostered by a professional trainer. This is a courtesy posting. Buck is the definition of a "versatile" dog. Since October 2025, he has been refining his social skills and has become a rockstar with other dogs. He spent his early life with children and remains incredibly gentle and "amazing" with kids of all ages. Training & Manners: Buck isn't just a pretty face; he’s got the brains to match. He has completed professional training and is both leash and off-leash reliable. Whether you’re heading to a busy patio downtown or a quiet trail in the woods, Buck handles it with ease. He is fully potty and crate trained. Personality: He’s a "Velcro dog" at heart who lives to please his person. While he has a medium energy level, his favorite activity is simply "whatever you’re doing." He does have a classic guardian instinct and will let you know when someone is at the door, but he looks to his human for guidance and settles down beautifully once told he's off-duty.
