Story
Kovu is a timid and undersocialized cat who will need time, patience, and understanding to feel safe in a new home. He is not a lap cat and prefers to keep his distance, especially in unfamiliar environments. With a calm, consistent routine and a quiet space to adjust at his own pace, Kovu has the potential to grow more comfortable over time. He would do best with an adopter who respects his boundaries and is willing to let him come out of his shell on his own terms. Story
Zoe – 5-Year-Old Bengal Seeking Calm, Loving Home 🐾 Zoe is a sweet, affectionate 5-year-old female Bengal who forms a deep bond with her person. She loves cuddles, soft blankets, daily playtime, and watching the world from the window. She is shy with new people and needs a quiet, low-stress home where she can feel safe and build trust. Zoe would do best without young children. She is litter-trained (prefers a very clean box) and is on a urinary tract support diet. We love her dearly, but our busy household is too overwhelming for her gentle nature. We are looking for a dedicated cat lover who wants a meaningful connection with a loyal companion. Serious inquiries only—finding the right home is our priority.

Story
Meet Elliot 🐾 Elliot is an 8-year-old Bengal with a gentle, easygoing nature and a big love for cuddles. This handsome boy is as affectionate as they come. He enjoys being picked up, happily snuggles in bed with his humans, and will curl up on your lap for nail trims like a pro. Elliot would thrive in a home with a bit of space to explore and a family that isn’t away for long hours, as he’s used to having his people around. While he has lived with another cat in the past, he would do best as the only pet due to his dominant nature. He’s well-mannered, fully litter trained, and neutered and microchipped. Elliot mostly enjoys wet food with a side of kibble, loves his scratch post, and has a playful side, especially when it comes to strings, feathers, and laser pointers. Like many curious cats, he enjoys hopping up to higher spots such as counters or shelves to take in his surroundings. When he’s ready for breakfast, he’ll happily remind you with a loud and adorable meow. Though now an indoor cat, Elliot previously enjoyed leash walks and may enjoy them again with a careful and patient adopter. Like a typical Bengal, he’s curious and playful but has mellowed beautifully with age and now enjoys long, cozy naps. Elliot is being lovingly rehomed due to a child’s allergy, and his family is truly heartbroken. They just want the very best for him. 📍 Being fostered in Markham If you are interested, please send an email to info.justpaws@gmail.com and an application will be sent to you.

Story
Let us tell ya, all about Nala!Firecracker Nala is a beautiful Bengal ready for a new beginning.ABOUT NALA- At shelter- Nala is a skittish cat who has minimal experience with humans. As such, it takes time for her to feel secure enough to express her full, unfiltered self.- Nala has made tremendous progress from hiding out in her cubby. Now she prefers confidently walking about the shelter during “out time”, sometimes even playfully teasing the other cats.- She is full of zest and high energy with a penchant for morning “zoomies” and climbing to the very top of the tallest cat tree. When she does settle down for a snooze, the cat tree is her happy place.- She’s commandeered her own private suite at the shelter, which is a larger kennel with extra space to help her relax and be more comfortable.- Nala is a very vocal and chatty cat. She may be shy around people, but she’s not shy about expressing her opinion! - She will meow excitedly for attention but then run away and hide if approached too quickly. However, she is proving to be more tolerant of the company of others and is beginning to accept gentle pets from volunteers when she feels safe.- As she starts to warm up Nala will openly and enthusiastically play with cat toys. Wands and any toy that is interactive are a big hit. She loves a good scratching pad too. - One proven way to build trust with Nala efficiently is by offering plenty of Churu!- Nala is currently enrolled in EHS’s socialization program, where dedicated volunteers are working to help her become more comfortable around people.- Nala is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.NALA’S IDEAL HOME- Skittish cats like Nala fare best in quiet, calm environments, preferably without small children or dogs.- During Nala’s socialization progress she has shown more openness to interacting with her fellow cats, however, she may still prefer to be the sole cat of the household.- Nala will do best in a home with lots of space for her to sprint, explore, and climb so she can burn off her excess energy.- Potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help Nala settle into her new environment. EHS will provide post-adoption support to assist Nala with a successful transition to her forever home.Nala’s next chapter is just beginning, and she will need
