Story
Kovu is a timid and undersocialized cat who will need time, patience, and understanding to feel safe in a new home. He is not a lap cat and prefers to keep his distance, especially in unfamiliar environments. With a calm, consistent routine and a quiet space to adjust at his own pace, Kovu has the potential to grow more comfortable over time. He would do best with an adopter who respects his boundaries and is willing to let him come out of his shell on his own terms. Story
Nala’s next chapter!Nala is a rescue who is ready for a fresh start. ABOUT NALA- At shelter- Beautiful Nala is a brown Bengal mix with a curious and mysterious personality.- Nala is a skittish cat who has minimal experience with humans. - She’s a confident girl who knows she’s a stellar feline, but she struggles to trust people.- Nala isn’t comfortable enough to be touched yet, although she has progressed from hiding out in her cubby to hanging out at the front of her kennel, observing everything around her.- She will run away and hide if approached out in the open, but if she’s behind a barrier, such as her kennel door, she’s becoming braver.- Nala is currently enrolled in EHS’s socialization program, where dedicated volunteers are working to help her become more comfortable around people. - Nala is incredibly vocal, especially while on “out time” from her kennel. She loves to walk around the shelter, meowing at volunteers and telling the other cats exactly what she thinks of them (unfortunately, she’s not a fan!). - She sometimes looks intrigued by the wand toy when it is offered, and volunteers suspect she has quite the playful side when she isn’t feeling overwhelmed by her surroundings. - Temptations treats are proving to be a great tool to motivate Nala and build trust with her. - Nala is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.NALA’S IDEAL HOME- A skittish cat like Nala will benefit most from a calm, quiet environment, preferably without small children or dogs.- Nala does not get along with other cats, preferring instead to be the sole feline of the household.- Potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help Nala settle into her new environment. If needed, EHS will offer post-adoption support to assist Nala with a successful transition to her forever home.Nala’s next chapter is just beginning, and she will need a safe and supportive environment as it unfolds. Story
Zoe – 5-Year-Old Bengal Seeking Calm, Loving Home 🐾 Zoe is a sweet, affectionate 5-year-old female Bengal who forms a deep bond with her person. She loves cuddles, soft blankets, daily playtime, and watching the world from the window. She is shy with new people and needs a quiet, low-stress home where she can feel safe and build trust. Zoe would do best without young children. She is litter-trained (prefers a very clean box) and is on a urinary tract support diet. We love her dearly, but our busy household is too overwhelming for her gentle nature. We are looking for a dedicated cat lover who wants a meaningful connection with a loyal companion. Serious inquiries only—finding the right home is our priority.

Story
Meet Elliot 🐾 Elliot is an 8-year-old Bengal with a gentle, easygoing nature and a big love for cuddles. This handsome boy is as affectionate as they come. He enjoys being picked up, happily snuggles in bed with his humans, and will curl up on your lap for nail trims like a pro. Elliot would thrive in a home with a bit of space to explore and a family that isn’t away for long hours, as he’s used to having his people around. While he has lived with another cat in the past, he would do best as the only pet due to his dominant nature. He’s well-mannered, fully litter trained, and neutered and microchipped. Elliot mostly enjoys wet food with a side of kibble, loves his scratch post, and has a playful side, especially when it comes to strings, feathers, and laser pointers. Like many curious cats, he enjoys hopping up to higher spots such as counters or shelves to take in his surroundings. When he’s ready for breakfast, he’ll happily remind you with a loud and adorable meow. Though now an indoor cat, Elliot previously enjoyed leash walks and may enjoy them again with a careful and patient adopter. Like a typical Bengal, he’s curious and playful but has mellowed beautifully with age and now enjoys long, cozy naps. Elliot is being lovingly rehomed due to a child’s allergy, and his family is truly heartbroken. They just want the very best for him. 📍 Being fostered in Markham If you are interested, please send an email to info.justpaws@gmail.com and an application will be sent to you.
