🐾 Meet Darla — The “Not So Standard” Bernedoodle! 🐾
Not your standard Bernedoodle. But then again, who wants ordinary? ❤️
Darla started her life in a breeding facility before being purchased by another breeder with the intention of spending her years producing puppies. Unfortunately for them (but VERY fortunately for Darla), this beautiful girl didn’t quite grow into the size they had hoped for.
Apparently, Darla didn’t get the memo that she was supposed to be a full-size Standard Bernedoodle.
We think she’s absolutely perfect just the way she is.
And we’re even happier knowing that her first litter will also be her last. At just over a year and a half old, Darla gets to leave the breeding life behind and look forward to something she’s never really had before: a family of her very own. No more life in a kennel. No more puppies. Just the opportunity to be someone’s beloved companion.
❤️ A Little About Darla
Darla is still learning that humans can be pretty wonderful. She’s making progress every day, but socialization takes time, patience, and a willingness to let her figure things out at her own pace.
She’s already discovered that following her humans around like a little shadow is one of her favorite activities! She’ll happily trail behind you, keeping an eye on whatever you’re doing. She allows petting and even being held, although she’s still building the confidence to seek out that affection on her own.
Darla does well with children who understand that slow movements, gentle interactions, and respecting her personal space are important. She’s looking for a family that won’t rush her, overwhelm her, or expect her to become a confident social butterfly overnight.
The best way to win Darla’s heart? Let her come to you.
🐶 So, How Big Is This “Not So Standard” Bernedoodle?
At a little over 18 months old, Darla is fully grown, and we’re comfortable placing her toward the higher end of the medium-size category around 40-45 lbs.
She’s certainly not the full-size Standard Bernedoodle some families may be searching for, but she has all the beauty of one in a slightly more manageable package!
