Story
Meet Banjo, a Resilient Survivor Needing a Loving Home Banjo was found wandering the backroads between farmland in Southeast Missouri during freezing temperatures. A testament to his intelligence and determination, he managed to find his way to a foster temporary hold center and safety with Ms. Leslie. Despite efforts to locate his original family through found dog posts and inquiries at the local shelter, no one came forward to claim him. Consequently, Banjo went to the vet where he received vaccinations and was neutered. However, Banjo's journey to health is not yet complete; he was diagnosed as heartworm positive and urgently needs to begin treatment. Banjo is a sociable dog who gets along well with others and is a natural people pleaser at 60 pounds. His striking good looks and friendly demeanor make him an ideal companion. How You Can Help If you are able to open your home to Banjo as a foster, you will be giving him a lifeline and enabling us to start his heartworm treatment. For those interested in adopting, we offer to cover the cost of his medical care. To learn more or to begin the process of fostering or adopting Banjo, please contact us at info@k9ei.dog. Additionally, you can complete an application at http://www.k9ei.dog to start the process. Your support could make all the difference in Banjo’s life, providing him with the chance to thrive and grow in a loving environment. Thank you for considering opening your heart and home to this deserving dog.

Anderson Humane makes no guarantees regarding medical or behavioral status of this animal, and the current owner is solely responsible for disclosing any challenges or concerns. Anderson Humane is not responsible for any unsuccessful adoptions. Our goofy Bernedoodle Buck was raised by teen boys who have all fled the nest! He is lonely for a family of kids/tweens/teens/adults that would love to walk him, cuddle him, and give him the attention he deserves, instead of lying around this lonely empty nest. He has a lot of personality (very smart, easily trained, needy for petting, barks only when someone approaches the house, loves new people and other dogs, loves popcorn and waffles for the occasional treat - as soon as you turn the waffle iron on, he will wait patiently for a bite). He can be gentle around younger kids once he gets to know them (he's deferential to babies), but his greetings might be quite energetic for toddlers or the elderly. He is equally up for a very long run or walk as he is for cuddling up to watch movies all day, as long as he's with his people. He has absolutely no behavioral concerns, but he did test positive for Lyme disease many years ago and has always been asymptomatic.
