Story
Great Pyrenees – Free to the Right Home We are looking for a loving, experienced home for our Great Pyrenees girl. This is a very hard decision, and our priority is finding the right fit for her needs. She is gentle and affectionate with people, has grown up with four children and their friends, and has always done well in a busy family environment. She loves being outdoors and would thrive with space to enjoy fresh air and freedom. True to her breed, she is loyal, independent, and naturally protective. She can be selective with other dogs—she may do well with some, she has had incidents with a Yorkie and an older small mixed-breed dog, so this is an important consideration. On the other hand she has made friends with frenchies and mini golden doodles. She would do best in a home with large-dog experience, a fenced yard or rural setting. She is being rehomed for free to ensure she goes to the right home. Please reach out if you believe you could provide a safe, loving environment.

Story
Came all this way, had to explain, direct from Domingo... I am Domingo! A 1 year and 3 months old Great Pyrenees male that lost my job as a farm guardian after I didn't do so great with small animals.. cats and chickens. I did fine with the large livestock (cows) I have lived with other large dogs without issues but probably no little dogs would be best. I am a total lover boy, and enjoy human attention. I don't think I would mind being in a home with children. I do want potential families to know that I've lived my life as an outdoor farm dog, so all of this "indoor" stuff is new. I am doing great but will definitely need an adjustment period in a new home -- so patience is necessary. Also, I am a vocal dog and that should be expected for my breed. Pyrenees or other guardian breed experience would be great for my new family to have. My adoption fee is $150 and I am now neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and heartworm negative. Stop by the shelter to meet me, or call/email with questions: 630-553-9256 or animalcontrol@Kendallcountyil.gov

Story
Who can open their heart and home to Misty? Misty is an 8 yr old 68 lb great pyr/lab mix and through no fault of her own, the only family she has known since she was a puppy can no longer care for her. We need to find her a foster/foster to adopt home as soon as possible.  Misty does great with cats and with other dogs. She is 8 so she would appreciate a dog who respects her space and would be content to just be there (vs one who wants to play all the time). Misty would love a nice yard or patio to lay around in when it is nice, and to be your couch or dog bed buddy when it is too cold and you just want to curl up and watch TV She is spayed, microchipped, and healthy! She is housebroken and has very good manners If you can open your heart and home this season please consider Misty.. You can foster her for a few weeks to make sure it is a good fit. As we hope you will adopt, please complete our adoption application for now so we have it on file https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application Once you complete that we will be in touch!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 2, 2025, 10:57 am

Story
We are so happy at how Kennedy has come along in the short 2 weeks she has been in her new foster home Kennedy. Since she’s been here, she’s been eating and drinking like a champ, chilling with foster brother Ted, and after a short warm up period, loves anyone who comes to the house. In the past two weeks, zero accidents, she doesn’t love the crate (but goes in when you lead her to it - although she seriously doesn’t need it), and has learned to love treats from Two Bostons and Ava's Pet Palace (if you haven’t checked out Ava’s treats, your pets are missing out - these guys love everything she makes!). She also walks on a leash like a dream. She does have a few quirks - she hates loud noises - garbage trucks, school buses, snow plows (her safe space in the house is on the landing going upstairs). Her other one is that she won’t walk on the hardwood floors so there are some extra throw rugs down for her. She would love to play with other dogs, but has quickly realized her foster brother isnt a "player". We have taken her through all her vetting- spayed, rabies vaccine, distemper vaccine, bordatella vaccine, fecal negative, heartworm negative, and microchipped. If you are interested in meeting Kennedy please email ATO4P at rescue@atailof4paws.org or go.to our website and fill out our application Www.atailof4paws.org
