This gentle and beautiful Bernese Mountain Dog mix, approximately 6–7 years old, has endured neglect and hardship, yet he radiates warmth and kindness. Cooper’s journey to a better life began when he was rescued by Tara’s House from an outdoor kennel just prior to Christmas 2024 where he had spent nearly all of his life. Cooper is a gentle soul who is just happy to be with you. He gets along beautifully with everyone and everything; dogs, cats, critters, and older kids who have been taught to respect dogs. All he asks for is a cozy spot to rest his head, a gentle hand to reassure him, and the time to slowly ease into an active routine. However, if you have the time for a bum scratch…he will happily accept! Completely housebroken, this boy is a gem who also puts himself to bed at night in his crate. He will greet you in the morning with the cutest happy tippy-tap dance and a wagging tail. He is a calm, sweet-natured old soul who would make an easy transition into a home with a fenced-in yard (and a home with carpet or carpet runners would be especially appreciated by him, as he finds hard floors a little scary!) Coco is the sweetest of girls and is looking for her forever family. She is a little shy and prefers a calm environment. She loves other dogs and plays well with her 3 foster siblings. She loves a good game of chase, and she loves to chew on antlers and toys that squeak. Coco gets excited to go on car rides and is ready to go whenever you pick up the keys. She rides very well in the car. She has had some training and is great with 'sit' and 'down' and offering her paw. She is working on reinforcing the 'stay' and 'come' commands with her foster parents. She would do best with a fenced yard and supervision (at first anyhow). Her previous family reported a tendency to run off. Her foster family has seen no such behavior. Coco is housetrained and is a bit afraid of her crate - which is being worked on. She sleeps all night on her dog bed in the master bedroom. She is a cuddler and wants to be close to her people.
