Cooper’s journey to a better life began when he was rescued by Tara’s House from an outdoor kennel just prior to Christmas 2024 where he had spent nearly all of his life. Cooper is a gentle soul who is just happy to be with you. He gets along beautifully with everyone and everything; dogs, cats, critters, and older kids who have been taught to respect dogs. All he asks for is a cozy spot to rest his head, a gentle hand to reassure him, and the time to slowly ease into an active routine. However, if you have the time for a bum scratch…he will happily accept! Completely housebroken, this boy is a gem who also puts himself to bed at night in his crate. He will greet you in the morning with the cutest happy tippy-tap dance and a wagging tail. He is a calm, sweet-natured old soul who would make an easy transition into a home with a fenced-in yard (and a home with carpet or carpet runners would be especially appreciated by him, as he finds hard floors a little scary!) While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- MOOSE IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR AN INDIVIDUAL ASKING TO REHOME THEIR PET. PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW. 'Moose is a well trained dog (crate trained, e collar trained, knows commands such as sit, down, place), but needs to be in a home without kids. He is extremely loyal and sweet, though not very cuddly. He loves to be outside, but has pretty low exercise needs (we take him on one ~.5 mile walk a day and that + being outside in the yard is plenty for him). He lives with 2 cats and a dog. He gets along great with them, but is wary around new dogs but has been successfully introduced to new dogs slowly. Moose has anxiety that is well managed with medication (costs ~$10/month), but he is too anxious and uncomfortable around our daughter which is why we are rehoming.
