Story
Meet Lucky! 🐾💙 Lucky is a big-hearted lover boy who is ready to find a family to shower with kisses, hugs, and endless affection! This handsome guy may be a little timid when meeting new people, especially men, but he warms up pretty quickly and then his sweet, goofy personality really shines. Once he knows you’re a friend, be prepared for face kisses, enthusiastic attempts to climb into your lap, and all the pets your hands can give! Lucky is still a puppy at heart, which means he has plenty of energy, curiosity, and a whole lot of fun packed into one lovable package! He’ll need space to run, opportunities to burn off energy, and activities to keep his clever mind busy. Without enough exercise and enrichment, he may decide that household items make excellent chew toys. Luckily, he’s more than happy to redirect that energy toward a good bone, a play session, or his favorite pastime: shredding stuffed toys and making it snow stuffing! 😂 Speaking of playtime, Lucky absolutely LOVES other dogs! His foster family has yet to see him meet a dog he doesn't get along with, and he tends to have a wonderfully easygoing, submissive approach to his canine friends. He especially enjoys wrestling with his resident dog buddies, including the family’s Golden Retriever. A playful canine companion could be a fantastic match for this social boy, provided their play styles are a good fit. Lucky has also been learning how to live peacefully with the other animals in his foster home. He initially wanted to chase the resident cats, but he has since learned that they’re friends, not playmates to pursue! He’s also curious about the household birds and rabbit, mostly watching them without engaging. As with any dog, continued supervision and appropriate introductions will be important when living with other pets. One of Lucky’s most endearing qualities is just how much he wants to be close to his people. He’ll try to give you hugs, lean in for affection, and climb into your lap because personal space is apparently a completely optional concept! Give him a really good ear rub, and you might even hear the sweetest little groan of pure contentment. It's safe to say that this boy appreciates the finer things in life, especially when they involve love and attention. Lucky has also been doing wonderfully with his house manners! Despite initially having little experience living indoors, he hasn’t had any accidents in the house while with his foster family. He does great in his kennel and walks nicely on leash. Car rides, however, are still pretty scary for him, and he tends to drool quite a bit when nervous. A towel to protect the seat and a secure seat-belt harness or other appropriate restraint are recommended for travel. His family will need to help him build confidence with car rides at his own pace. He also gets so excited to meet people that he may jump up to say hello, so continued training and positive reinforcement will help him learn more polite greetings. At the end of the day, Lucky is simply a handsome, affectionate, playful boy who wants to be loved. He’s looking for a family ready to embrace his puppy energy, help him continue learning, and give him plenty of exercise, enrichment, and affection. In return, you’ll get a loyal companion who will happily cover your face in kisses, wrestle with his dog friends, make you laugh with his goofy antics, and remind you every day just how much he adores you. Could Lucky be the missing piece of your family? This sweet boy is ready to find out! 💙🐶 ---- *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue.
