Location: Jordan, MN Buddy has had a rough start but he is learning how to be a dog! Slow introductions to other dogs is important and would do best with a submissive dog or as an only dog. Buddy does well with cats and would do best with older kids/no kids. He is learning how to respect other dogs at all times. He is potty trained and walks great on a leash. He is easy going and loves to "talk in the morning when we first wake up. He loves hanging out with people and being lazy together! He is just a wonderful boy who has lots of love to give but is learning boundaries as he was never taught and lived on a chain since he was a puppy. ----- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.

Welcome Athena to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 2-year Great Pyrenees. She weighs about 90 pounds. She has a beautiful coat and the typical extra back toes commonly found in this breed. This is a guardian breed dog. They naturally will protect their flock or family. This breed will do best in a fully fenced yard as they will roam away if there is no fence. She is good with other dogs and will need some more leash work. She would be great with someone that knows the breed and loves it. She should have the natural tendencies of this breed. She had puppies and we adopted them out. We also adopted out the larger male that was found with her as a stray. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is up on her vaccines, healthy, spayed and ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas anc can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. She was found living in a junkyard with the help of a kind-hearted Good Samaritan, but now she’s safe, warm, and thriving.
