Meet Taryn — the girl who finally got her chance! After spending months in the shelter waiting patiently for someone to choose her, Taryn’s luck finally changed when rescue stepped in and gave her the fresh start she deserved. Now she’s safe, loved, and ready to find a forever family who will treasure her for the wonderful dog she is. Taryn is a beautiful and photogenic sweetheart — seriously, this girl can’t take a bad picture! One of her cutest features is her adorable speckled nose, which looks like it was kissed by freckles. She’s playful, spirited, and always ready for fun. Whether she’s romping around with toys or striking a pose for the camera, Taryn brings joy everywhere she goes. She’s also working on her leash manners and making great progress with each walk. After waiting so long for her moment, Taryn is eager to meet her forever family and show them what an incredible companion she can be. Could Taryn be the perfect addition to your home? Tayrn is microchipped, spayed and current on her vaccines. Her adoption fee is $415.  Apply to adopt TAYRN LONESTAR at www.ehrdogs.org  December 27, 2025, 7:26 pm

Story
Major and his siblings' owner let the dogs loose to roam the yard. Sure enough Major's brother was hit by a car and suffered a broken leg that the owners never bothered to take him to the vet for. The owners finally agreed to surrender the dogs and now they can be kept safe. Major is shy but warms up when given time and is good with people and other dogs. We do not know what he thinks of cats. This handsome guy is about 8 months old and 46 pounds. Please help Major find the loving home he deserves. We do NOT ship our animals. All adoptive families must travel to us to meet their adoptive dog/cat. Applicants must live within a 2 hour radius from Sparta/Andover (07871/07821). Story
** Tune in to our Facebook page (Great Pyrenees Rescue Society - GPRS) every Sunday at 3pm CT to see our dogs LIVE!  You can also find previous episodes on our YouTube channel (@gprspyrs). If you would like a specific dog to be featured on our show, please email us at info@greatpyreneesrescuesociety.org. ** Meet Akira, a gorgeous Great Pyrenees who has perfected the art of being both majestic and silly at the same time. Akira is the kind of dog who could ace an IQ test, then celebrate by rolling in the grass with a goofy little grin. One look at her stunning coat and you’ll fall in love, but it's her sweetness and intelligence that will keep you hooked. Born around November 2020, Akira has the kind of brainpower that quietly judges your inability to fold fitted sheets. She's far too smart to fall for your attempt to spell W-A-L-K instead of actually saying the word. But grab the leash and you’ll see her excitement level skyrocket faster than a kid on Halloween night. This girl is a true lover of the outdoors and she's always up for an adventure, even if the adventure is just an enthusiastic lap around the block. When she's not out exploring, Akira knows how to dial it down and be the perfect snuggle buddy. Her favorite kind of evening includes lounging at your feet, soaking up the calm, occasionally nudging you for a well-deserved belly rub. She's perfectly content to lay quietly while you work from home, making her the ideal co&#226&#128&#145worker who never hogs the Wi&#226&#128&#145Fi. Crate-trained and house-trained, Akira is a good-natured companion who is easy to have around. She absolutely adores people, and greets new friends and visitors to her foster home with warmth and enthusiasm. She's a playful lady and will be happiest in a home with a large dog buddy who appreciates her flair for fun. Akira does prefer her four-legged friends to be large like her, so she’s looking for a home with no cats and no small dogs. She would do well with a semi-active family and a securely fenced yard to run and play. With her playful spirit and affectionate heart, Akira is sure to make a delightful addition to any dog-loving home. If you’re looking for a smart and silly cuddle bug who wants to be part of every adventure—and every lazy Sunday—Akira might just be your perfect match!
