Apollo has the kind of face that makes you pause: a soft, fluffy black coat, warm tan markings, and big, expressive eyes looking right at you. He’s about 8 years old and has been in Scout’s Honor’s program since 2020. That’s a long time to wait for a home. Apollo has plenty of love to give, but he’s a stoic boy. He isn’t looking for nonstop excitement. He wants to be a companion—to share someone’s space, enjoy a comfortable place to rest, and know the security of having a home. Apollo enjoys other dogs and moderate play, especially with easygoing dogs who match his pace. High-energy, nonstop play isn’t his style. He’ll do best with experienced adults who can offer a calm home, a steady routine, consistent guidance, and regular activity. Apollo is not a fit for a home with cats or children. After all these years, Apollo deserves the chance to discover the comforts of home and the quiet joy of belonging to someone. Could you be the person who gives him that chance? Meet Ember! A 7-month-old, 40 lb Bernese Mountain Dog/Labrador Retriever mix full of love and energy! She’s playful, friendly, and ready for an active family.Ember is the sweetest dog ever!!!!!!! She was dumped out in the country with her mother and a sister and she allowed us to rescue her. Ember was scared at first but is now one of the most calm, sweet dogs we have ever had in our program. Be the lucky family and adopt this sweet girl. Thank you. He’s incredibly sweet and affectionate once he trusts you, and absolutely loves being loved on. He enjoys going on walks and is a dream on the leash—he stays relaxed and does not react to other dogs, even when they’re barking. At home, Blanco enjoys his routine. He likes to go outside to potty and explore a bit, but he’s happiest lounging in his cozy spots. He loves his beds and any space he considers his own. Because of this, Blanco can be protective of his belongings and personal space, and will let other dogs know when he wants his boundaries respected. He does well with select dogs when introductions and space are managed thoughtfully. Blanco is sensitive to loud weather—he’s afraid of storms and rain and will seek out a safe, quiet place where he feels secure (his favorite is a cozy closet with a bed). He prefers gentle handling and isn’t a fan of having his ears or feet touched, so he’ll need a patient owner who respects his comfort level.
