Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.HW +Skye -- Skyler's rescue reel, with our gracious thanks to Kristin Erwin, who was Skyler's original savior, and she coordinated getting Skyler (aka Skye) safe and then fully vetted: https://www.facebook.com/reel/879997058407675 https://www.facebook.com/reel/1637637877357221 "A kind mail carrier reached out for help after she noticed one of the stray dogs on her route was injured. We don’t always know their back stories but between the mail carrier and the neighbor we pieced her heartbreaking story together. She was abandoned about 6 months ago after her owners were evicted due to animal cruelty. SPCA confiscated all the animals on the property except one. Unfortunately, they were unable to catch her. They tried traps and tried darting her with a tranquilizer but they lost track of her before she went down. We aren’t sure how she injured her back paw but her injury turned out to be her saving grace. It got her noticed and she became urgent over the hundreds of other strays in the area." Adoption Criteria 1. All GPAT fostered dogs are located in Texas. GPAT will consider out-of-state adoptions on a case by case basis. 2. Dogs will only be adopted as companion animals to be part of the family and reside primarily inside the home. 3. Preference is for the applicant to have specific knowledge and experience of the Great Pyrenees breed. Breed specific information will be covered in the virtual home visit/interview. 5. To integrate the dog into the family and provide mentorship to the dog, preference is for applicant to have at least 1 medium/large youthful/playful dog in the household. 6. Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Blanco's Foster home shared this Bio for Blanco: Blanco is a gentle, calm soul who forms a deep bond with his person. He’s incredibly sweet and affectionate once he trusts you, and absolutely loves being loved on. He enjoys going on walks and is a dream on the leash—he stays relaxed and does not react to other dogs, even when they’re barking. At home, Blanco enjoys his routine. He likes to go outside to potty and explore a bit, but he’s happiest lounging in his cozy spots. He loves his beds and any space he considers his own. Because of this, Blanco can be protective of his belongings and personal space, and will let other dogs know when he wants his boundaries respected. He does well with select dogs when introductions and space are managed thoughtfully. Blanco is sensitive to loud weather—he’s afraid of storms and rain and will seek out a safe, quiet place where he feels secure (his favorite is a cozy closet with a bed). He prefers gentle handling and isn’t a fan of having his ears or feet touched, so he’ll need a patient owner who respects his comfort level. While he may take a little time to fully trust, once he does, he’s a loyal, loving companion who just wants to be close to his person. Adoption Criteria (adult 1-8 years) 1. Texas Adopters Only (we don't have the resources or volunteer support to adopt out of Texas at this time). 2. Adoption Fee: $375.00 (includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test). 3.
