Story
Meet Bear, an adorable teeny tiny neutered male Bichon/Maltese mix! He is believed to be somewhere between 2-4 years old and weighs approximately 10lbs! Bear gets along with other dogs and people. He enjoys playing with other dogs! He hasn't been cat tested, but he would likely do well with cats. We recommend an adult only home for him or a home with older, dog savvy kids 12+. At first, he can seem a little rough around the edges, but once he warms up he is a little Velcro pup! He loves to go for walks (he would walk all day if you let him), enjoys the company of other dogs, cuddling on the couch, and is happy to receive pets as long as he can see you approaching him. He really is a sweet dog who just needs to learn what love feels like! His ideal home is a single person who is looking for a buddy and someone to walk with. He is medically up to date, housebroken (and knows how to use pee pads), and crate trained. Apply to meet this sweet boy today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2352940##

Story
Hi, I’m Martha! I’m a 5-year-old, 10-pound Bichon with a an incredibly sweet nature. I may be a little shy at first, but once I feel safe, my gentle personality shines through. I get along well with other dogs and enjoy their company. I’ll need a patient adopter who understands that I need time to build trust. I get along well with other dogs and enjoy their company. I also love exploring new spaces (even if I still need some help with house training—oops!), and I’m always curious about my surroundings. I was a perfect angel for my bath, and while I may be a bit reserved at first, I promise I have so much love to give. A calm, understanding home without young kids would be best for me as I continue to gain confidence. If you’re looking for a sweet, curious little companion who just needs a bit of patience and love, I might be the perfect match for you! Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Hi, my name is Chloe! I am a 9 month old Bichon Frise/Maltese mix - I may be small at 8lbs, but boy I sure am mighty! I'm high energy and love to play nonstop with my toys and adore roughhousing with my canine foster sister (she's double my size, but I love it and hold my own no problem). My foster mom describes me as fearless - I love everybody I meet, even goats and horses. I've even been dubbed a friendly little sprite! I am a busy, Energizer bunny and am looking for an active family that I can be part of. Expect me to be a lapdog? No thank you! I want to go on lots of adventures, accompany you to kids' sports practices, maybe even meet new friends at Farmers Markets and Breweries. My perfect home will have another playful dog or two and I would be thrilled to burn off energy with kids (I adore my human foster siblings - we tire each other out!). To learn how to make me your next 4-legged family member, please contact my talent manager, Michelle at michelle.p@poainc.org AND complete an adoption application ASAP at www.poainc.org.

Story
Randy is an adorable cheerful little guy who loves nothing more than curling up on a lap- any lap! He’s incredibly trusting and gets along with other dogs. He walks nicely on leash. His foster mom says he's also a great running companion. He is making great progress with house  training, as he spent much of his life living outdoors. At 8 yrs old (best estimate) Randy doesn’t act his age and still has plenty of energy and affection to share. He’s ready to find a loving forever home where he can feel safe and cherished.  Good with Cats  Adoption fee: $375Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 25, 2025, 11:03 am
