Story
Gary is the total package! This adorable 7-year-old Doxy mix is sweet, snuggly, and full of love. Gary loves people, does well with dogs and cats, and has wonderful house manners. He is house trained, crate trained, and although he does fine in a crate, his favorite place to sleep is right beside you in bed. Gary is truly one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever fostered, and whoever adopts him is going to be very lucky. He is current on all vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, neutered, and on heartworm, flea, and tick prevention. If you would like to make Gary part of your family, please complete our adoption application.

Story
Let's not forget the cutest husband and wife duo... we pulled them from the shelter with their 3 beautiful baby girls. Thanks to their awesome foster mom, they survived pneumonia and are all doing well now.  Papa and Mama Coco were terrific parents, but now it's their turn to enjoy life as a loving couple with a loving forever family.. Papa is about 4 and Mama Coco is about 7. I'm thinking Lhasa mixes. They really love each other, and are very bonded. They love to play with toys , snuggle, but most of all love to be held and petted.  Mama is shy, papa is playful.  They are very loving once they trust you, but can be nippy with strangers and when there is a lot going on around them they get very stressed. Also Typical to the breed, they are very protective of the people they love. They'd be happiest as only pups. They are fun and loving. Adult only home  Please go to the link to fill our our adoption application.  https://www.remembermerescueny.net/adoption-application  Remember Me Rescue does not adopt out of the local area, no transport is available.  We adopt to Long Island, Westchester, NYC area and parts of Connecticut only. Story
Buddy and Ziggy are in need of a Local Foster/Foster to Adopt home.  Local to Long Island and Westchester Cty only.  The reason for this is we need our foster dogs to be local to our Vets.... Buddy and Ziggy are 2 year old bonded ( it means they must be adopted together ) who will be going to the shelter if we can't find a foster .They are happy boys who enjoy playing with toys, running, rough housing and cuddling with you.  The boys are great with other dogs and children.  Basically the perfect Duo!  Foster to Adopt gives you 2 weeks to make a decision as to whether you would love the boys to be a permanent part of your family or not.  If for any reason you decide no, we need you to continue fostering until they find their forever home.  We are looking for a house and fenced in yard for them to run in, again Long Island or Westchester only. You can find our foster application at: remembermerescueny.net ##2676875##

Story
Maribelle is about 11 weeks old. When she first arrived, she was extremely scared and wouldn’t leave her crate. With a lot of patience—and the help of my own dog—we set up a puppy pen around her crate, which helped her feel safe enough to slowly start coming out and exploring. Over time, she’s grown much more comfortable and loves to run all over now. Right now, she is using pee pads in the home, as getting a leash on her and taking her outside has been a challenge. However, we’ve been working on it, and she is making steady progress. I’ve found that clipping the leash while she’s still in her crate works best, and once she’s outside, she does enjoy walking around. She is still a bit sensitive to touch, especially from above, so we approach her gently—petting under her chin and moving slowly. Initially, she would snap when approached out of fear, but as she’s become more comfortable, that behavior has significantly improved. She may still get nervous when being picked up, but using a leash helps make things easier and less stressful for her. We currently crate her at night and when we’re not home. She may cry a little at first but settles down fairly quickly. She’s eating small meals 3–4 times a day, though she can be a bit picky. Maribelle does tend to open up more with another dog around and are looking for someone with another dog who can help her continue building her confidence. She is already starting to show her sweet personality and is happy to see us—it just takes her a little time to trust. We would hope you continue to socialize her with dogs as she truly loves them. A good puppy training class would be a great thing for her as well. We’ve also been working on keeping a light leash on her while she’s out so we can guide her gently without startling her. We’re pairing this with treats to build positive associations with touch, brushing, and handling. With time, patience, and consistency, Maribelle has the potential to become a wonderful companion. She just needs someone willing to help her continue learning that not all humans are scary.
