Meet Ben, an adult neutered male Lhasa Apso mix! Ben is about 4 years old and 32 lbs but he is currently a bit overweight. He can be timid of men initially and he would do better in a home with children older than 12 years old. Ben will be arriving in CT on 9/19 and we are accepting applications for him now! He will be required to attend our adoption event in Dayville, CT on 9/20. Ben is medically up to date and neutered. Apply to meet this special pup today! As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs. We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted. As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Sayde! Sayde is a very sweet, happy, and playful girl who's ready to find a family of her own! She spent several weeks running the streets before she was finally brought to safety. Despite efforts to find her owners, no one ever came forward, so now she's looking forward to a fresh start. Sayde has a fun-loving personality and isn't shy about showing her excitement—expect a few happy barks and jumps when she sees you! She gets along well with other dogs and would enjoy having a canine friend to play with. She does have a rough-and-tumble play style and may occasionally try to show she's the boss, so slow introductions and canine companions who appreciate an active playmate would be ideal. We're not completely sure if she's potty trained yet, but with consistency and patience, she should settle into a routine. Sayde does seem to have some resource aggression, which will need continued correction and training on. Due to this, older/considerate kids only. Because of her breed, Sayde will also need regular grooming to keep her coat looking and feeling its best. Sayde is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and protected with ProHeart 12 and Bravecto. Her adoption fee is $400. She is currently located in Texas but can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, Kentucky, and locations along the East Coast for an additional $250 transport fee. Let's not forget the cutest husband and wife duo... we pulled them from the shelter with their 3 beautiful baby girls. Thanks to their awesome foster mom, they survived pneumonia and are all doing well now. Papa and Mama Coco were terrific parents, but now it's their turn to enjoy life as a loving couple with a loving forever family.. Papa is about 4 and Mama Coco is about 7. I'm thinking Lhasa mixes. They really love each other, and are very bonded. They love to play with toys , snuggle, but most of all love to be held and petted. Mama is shy, papa is playful. They are very loving once they trust you, but can be nippy with strangers and when there is a lot going on around them they get very stressed. Also Typical to the breed, they are very protective of the people they love. They'd be happiest as only pups. They are fun and loving. Augie, 7 years old, approximately 18 lbs. Augie is slowly coming around after being surrendered to a high kill shelter by his owner, supposedly for biting him when he touched his ear. We noticed that Augie has a terrible ear infection. If he did even bite, it could have been out of pain. People who care take these things into consideration. Augie came to us very fearful and shut down, he is slowly showing signs of feeling safe. You can see it in his face and eyes already, that he is relaxing. Augie is going to need a calm, patient, and loving person who will give him time and space. An adult home is best. Possibly another calm dog who will show Augie that life isn't all bad.
