Ricky is a pedigree Cockachon (half Bichon, half Cocker Spaniel). He weighs 22.5 pounds and is in good health. I just love him but am getting too old to care for him properly. He sleeps with me and is well behaved during the day. I take him out at 11 pm and he sleeps all night. He is a leased dog but a fenced yard would be a plus. He has not lived with children but would be fine with them. He barks at big dogs. He is quite handsome and well behaved. He will take some time to adjust to being without me. He will be sad. He eats dry food only (Science diet Oral and Picky No More from Amazon).

Story

Lucy is 5 years old, 15 lbs. and spayed. I got her from a bichon frise/cocker spaniel breeder in NJ. She used to live in this house with another dog, her uncle, but he moved out a year ago, so Lucy has lost her friend and playmate. I am increasingly busy with community involvement and travel. She loves the local pet hotel/vet we use, and they love her. I hate leaving her alone. Her typical day starts around 8am, she sleeps in my bed, we go out for the morning routine, she follows me around during my day when I'm home and takes 4 to 5 daily walks around the neighborhood that is swarming with dogs. She is friendly with dogs she knows, can hang out with them in the house with no issues. On walks, she barks at large dogs. Her only fault is that she likes to jump when she is excited. She has a sensitive tummy, she is fed on Science Diet sensitive stomach with a probiotic powder added. I hope she can find a family with a fenced back yard and lots of love and time to give.

Dog Name: Nicki Minaj  Breed: Bichon Frise Sex: FemaleAge: 6Weight: 16lb (approx) Medical Needs: None. She does best on a fish based kibble to prevent minor skin irritation.  Housebroken: No. having lived in a puppy mill all her life, all she’s ever known is using the bathroom indoors, where ever she could unfortunately… We have been working on this, but it is SLOW progress and it’s something her adopter will need to understand and be patient with.  Crate trained: No. she is a nervous pooper and a poop stomper when confined in small spaces. She does however do much better in a playpen, and I would recommend using a playpen in replacement of her crate! Good in the car: Yes, a bit nervous but she transports well in a crate. It would be a good idea to fast her before transport because of the nervous pooping.  Good on a leash: Yes! Slow and steady wins the race with this girl… she loves to walk by my side and pays close attention to me, but we have to go at her pace.  Energy level: pretty lazy!! She loves to lay on her bed. She does not really play. Need a fenced in yard: No. precautions should be made to be sure she is contained (martingale collar, never let loose, etc) but she does well on a leash.  Dog Friendly: Yes! As long as the dogs aren’t super pushy, she does well with other dogs and doesn’t pay them much mind. If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No, she’d be happy by herself.  Cat friendly? Yes, she likes to lay low.  Kid Friendly? With her being so timid, she would do best in a home without kids. Special traits that make your foster special: Nicki Minaj is a shy yet very curious girl! She loves to sit back and observe everything and has learned so much. She wants to please, she just needs someone with the patience to work with her. She’s a beautiful girl who deserves a chance!! She is a retired breeder so will need to learn all about how to be part of a family.  She is on the shy side so will need love and patience. She is very sweet and has now started giving kisses.  She is up to date on rabies and distemper vaccines,  tested for heartworm negative and now current on preventatives,  microchipped and spayed.
