DOB: 11/12/2025Weight: ~2 lbsSex/Breed: Male Bichon Frise/Shih TzuRescued From: Breeding kennel*SPECIAL NEEDS: APOLO WAS BORN WITH ABNORMALITIES OF HIS BACK LEGS*If you like your fluffy puppies of the “special needs” variety, consider Apolo! This little guy was surrendered to All 4 Paws by a breeding kennel after he was deemed unfit for sale because he could not walk. We were happy to offer him a safe place to go, and immediately arranged for him to see an orthopedic specialist to evaluate his condition. It was determined that Apolo was born with severe abnormalities in his hind legs, and sadly, surgical correction is not an option. With the love and support of his foster mom, Apolo is adapting and learning to get around better every day. While he may never be able to walk normally or run, we feel he has a good quality of life and would make a wonderful companion for the person willing to accept him for who he is. Apolo doesn’t realize he’s any different from his friends. He’d love to have someone home often and a little doggy pal to hang out with. He loves to play and snuggle equally. The transition from kennel to couch has been scary for Erin, but she is doing her best to be brave. It’s clear she desperately wants to trust – slowly approaching her foster mom to give sweet kisses on her hand when she is feeling safe. Watching her relax and dance around when she is excited has been such a joy!! Erin is looking for a calm environment and an understanding family that will give her the time and space she needs to settle in. She’ll need a home with a resident dog to learn from and she gets along with cats too. Training is a work in progress, but her foster mom is focusing on building her trust and confidence.
