Lady Bird is ready for freedom!! This sweet, 5 year old, female Bichon spent the first part of her life in a puppy mill. She was used only for breeding and had never known love. Since being with us and completing our training program, she has a taste of the good life and is ready for more! Lady Bird would do best in a quiet, patient home that gives her the space needed while she adjusts. She has come so far! But is still nervous in new situations. She is great with other dogs, would do fine cats, but would be best for an adult only home. The sudden movements and noise of children are a little overwhelming for her.  She has completed our training program and does great with her basic obedience, crate training, leash training and potty training.  Her ideal home would have another pup or two to show her the ropes, a fenced in backyard so she can safely explore, and owners who are committed to showing her the love she never knew. She is spayed, microchipped, HW negative and fully vaccinated. This lovely Bichon girl came to DASH with 2 other Bichons after having lived her whole life in a shed. She was not socialized at all and very shy. she has been in a foster home now for almost 2 years and has come a long way, but is still a shy girl. She loves to be in the same room with her foster mom just chillin, or loves being outside in the fenced in back yard. She gets along with other dogs in the foster home, but isn't really a player with the dogs or toys. She likes her space and is content to be in a soft doggie bed or a crate, which she sees as her safe place. She is not a lap dog. She does allow her foster mom to pick her up to brush her and will allow pets when there is cheese involved. She does really well at the groomers as well. She just really needs her forever home to know she is still a work in progress, and will need continued patience as she learns that the world is not a big bad scary place and there are people who love her. This girl is so sweet and we have seen glimpses of a funny, loving doggo. She is ready for her forever and ever home. While they've tried out home life before, they've found their way back to the shelter after proving they can be a little ... Let's say enthusiastic about living life on their own terms- especially with their potty training! Because of this, they're searching for a patient and understanding home that's ready to help them learn good house manners. What they lack in training experience they more than make up for in heart and personality. Willow and August are incredibly loving girls who thrive on affection and companionship. As a bonded pair, they take comfort in each other and would do best staying with each other. They're like two fluffy clouds that just float better side-by-side! These sisters are also quite playful and energetic! They enjoy bouncing around together, exploring their surroundings and bringing joy and laughter wherever they go. They've shown themselves to be quite friendly towards other dogs and have done well around the house cats at the shelter. Making them wonderful potential additions to multi-pet homes! Willow and August will flourish with adopters who; have patients and a positive attitude towards training, want affectionate companions and understand that bonded pairs bring double the work but double the reward. So, if you're ready to open your heart and home to two sweet sisters who promise endless love, giggles and companionship, Willow and August are ready to meet you!
