Story
Margarita is a happy, upbeat little guy with a gentle soul and a whole lot of love to give. This sweet Shih Tzu hasn’t had a ton of exposure to people yet, so he can be a bit shy at first and may not always come right over on his own. Once you scoop him up though, he’s all about cuddles, pets, and playtime. He truly blossoms with patience and kindness. Margarita does wonderfully with other dogs and is pleasant and non-aggressive. He would likely thrive in a home with a confident dog buddy to help show him the ropes. He’s also respectful around cats, taking their sass in stride and happily going about his day. He’s learning the basics of house training and has made good progress with going outside to pee. Potty training for number two is still a work in progress, and having an older dog to model good habits could really help him continue to improve. Margarita is a great eater and shows no food aggression with people or other animals. When left alone, Margarita will go into a crate, though it’s not his favorite place and he can be vocal at first. He’s still in his chewing phase and does best when he has appropriate toys to keep him busy. A fenced yard is a big plus for him since he loves to run, explore, and play outside. He’s still learning how to walk on a leash and will need a patient adopter to help build his confidence and skills. Margarita is a sweet, loving boy who just needs a little guidance and reassurance to truly shine. With the right home, he’s going to make a wonderful and devoted companion.
