Since arriving at Camp, his world has completely opened up and it’s been beautiful to watch.   He’s learning what it means to be a loved companion: enjoying play yards, making doggie friends, walking on a leash, and discovering that humans are kind, patient, and full of treats and gentle affection. Florence is a sweet 13lb female Bichon who came to us when a breeder decided to stop breeding. She spent much of her early life in a kennel, but since arriving at Camp Papillon she has made wonderful progress and continues to learn what being a loved companion is all about.   Florence now enjoys play yards, spending time with her dog friends, and has learned that humans are kind. She is walking on a leash and is discovering how nice treats, gentle affection, and a routine can be. While she can still be a bit spooked by unfamiliar noises, she gains confidence each day with reassurance and patience.   Florence does well keeping her space clean during the day, but nighttime can still be a challenge. Long evenings at the shelter sometimes lead to messes. With a consistent routine and understanding home, she will continue to improve.   Florence is looking for a calm, patient household that understands she is still learning how to be a house dog.
