You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi… I’m Ned. Have you ever wanted a Golden Doodle, but smaller? I look just that! Please read my bio thoroughly. Only available for adoption in Texas. I’m a quiet, gentle guy with a really soft heart. I came here with a few of my companions through a transfer, and I’ll be honest—I’m still learning that the world can be a safe and kind place. It takes me a little time to trust new people. At first, I might hang back and just watch. I need someone very patient who will let me go at my own pace and not rush me. I need someone who can understand it may take a long time for me to become comfortable around humans, as I have had a rough beginning to life. I will try to run away from you. But I am not aggressive, or have ever tried to bite.  With me being scared, I need you to understand that I will need patience with going outside. I will try to run away, so keep me on a harness until I learn coming back inside on my own is okay. I do feel more confident around other dogs, so a home with another canine is a must. They can help show me that life isn't so bad. I am unsure how I do with cats. Older considerate kids only.  Due to my breed, I’ll also need regular grooming, but I’ve been very good for it here. I actually don't mind getting groomed. I find it very relaxing. I am heartworm positive right now, but I’ve already started treatment. I’ve been on antibiotics and am going through the ProHeart 12 protocol approved by the American Heartworm Society. The good news is that with this treatment, I should test negative in about 8–10 months. I’m neutered, up to date on all my vaccines and prevention, and microchipped, so I’m ready when the right person comes along. My adoption fee is $350. Quarantine Up Sept 20, 2026 Meet little Amy! She weighs just 11-12 pounds, has the most wonderful underbite, and we think she’s a Shih Tzu mix. Of the four dogs who came to us from a neglectful situation in deep South Texas, Amy was the most fearful. For the first 24 hours, she wouldn’t let me touch her. But as you can see in the video, those days are behind her! Amy is a loving, outgoing little dog with a tender heart. Give her a little time to feel safe, and you’ll have a best friend by your side. I can see her fitting into just about any family setting… and she’s almost small enough to carry around in your purse! Meet Fiyero! 🐾 Fiyero is an adorable 1- to 2-year-old Shih Tzu weighing about 12 pounds. This sweet little guy came to Tracy’s Paws from deep South Texas after finding himself unwanted and in a very neglectful situation. When Fiyero arrived, he was so badly matted that he had to be completely shaved down. He was understandably scared and initially a little growly while he figured out that he was finally somewhere safe. He has never nipped anyone, and as he has settled in and learned to trust us, that behavior has continued to fade. Today, Fiyero lets us pick him up, hold him, and love all over him. He really is a sweet little boy who just needed some time and kindness. Fiyero gets along with other dogs, and we have had no problems with him here. Because of his history and initial nervousness, we believe his best match would be an adult home or a family with older children who will give him the patience and respect he deserves. Meet Shaggy! Shaggy is a cute little 13.2 pound Chihuahua–Terrier mix who came to us from Laredo, Texas, where he had been living in a backyard with several other dogs and was covered in fleas and ticks. When he first arrived at Tracy’s Paws, Shaggy was understandably unsure of people. We don’t believe he had much handling in his previous life, and at first he would curl his lip and give us a bit of a stink-eye. But as the days passed and he realized he was safe, his true personality began to shine through. Underneath that cautious start is a very sweet, gentle little boy. Shaggy is about three to four years old. Because he needs a little time to warm up to new people, we are recommending a home without small children, where he can feel secure and build trust at his own pace. The good news is that Shaggy is heartworm-negative and Chagas-negative, and he is more than ready to trade rescue life for a quiet home of his own. What Shaggy would love most is a soft lap, a patient heart, and a kind home where he can continue to blossom.
