Story
Meet Rose Marie, a delightful 11-month-old Bichon Frise weighing 15lbs, ready to sprinkle joy in your home. As a spirited puppy, she's navigating her playful stages, making her a perfect match for families with mature children and other pets. When Rose "talks" with grunts or growls, respond - it's her way of communicating. Respect her sleepy moments to avoid nips. Rose is on a mission to gain weight with a love for dry kibble, organic rawhides soothe her teething, and morning greenies are a must. She approaches affection on her terms, requiring patience, but rewards with kisses and a treat-loving heart. Potty training is in progress, and in her Houston foster home, Rose has blossomed, would do best with another dog in the home. Are you ready to welcome this sweet bundle into your forever home? Rose Marie's adoption fee is $500. ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs. EIN # 46-5486022

Story
Hi, My name is Lillie. I am a poodle and I am thought to be about 12-13 years old. I am a very good little girl. I never, ever have accidents in my foster home and I LOVE to go outside for walks. The walks are slow and I love to stop and smell everything:) I came from a hoarder situation and was not properly socialized in my youth. Now that I have people working with me, I am doing better. I went from living in a closet and never coming out except to potty and eat to having full run of my foster home and not hiding! I live very well with other animals. I am good with other calm small dogs and even cats. They leave me alone and I leave them alone. I LOVE my food puzzle toy and can open all of the puzzle pieces to get my treats! I am uncomfortable being picked up because my vision isn't great. I can see large objects and shadows though. I won't come to you for cuddles nor sit on your lap but I be in the same room as you. If I bond to you, I might even give you the occasional kiss or sit beside you on the couch or bed. It takes work though! My foster dad hand-fed me after my dental and that pretty much sold me on him forever. I am quiet as a mouse and would be a great companion for someone not looking for lots of affection. I am very well behaved and all I ask for is the occasional walk, treat, and regular food. I still have some years left in me and have had an extensive medical work up. ***ALSO, SCP was awarded a senior pet adoption grant from the Petfinder Foundation (yay!) to help pay for future medical care I might need after I find a forever home- how amazing is that!?! Please don't let costs be an inhibitor - we have got that covered :) Come meet me one Saturday? It might take lots of time for me to bond, but it is possible! PS - I LOVE soft beds and blankets. That and food are the way to my heart:) Love, Lillie  If you are interested in her, please send an email to us! Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Please complete and return to us for review! All dogs typically show on Saturdays at the Petco in Clear Lake as well. 2410 Bay Area Blvd near Space Center.  Adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old.  A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home. The adoption fee for a dog is $190 (or $245 for puppies) which includes State of Texas sales tax. All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas.February 20, 2024, 1:33 pm
