Story
Meet Michael Myers – A Spooky Name for a Sweet, Scared Little Soul Michael Myers is a 5-year-old Bichon Frise–Maltese mix with a fluffy white coat and a compact 20-lb frame. Recently pulled from a shelter, he carries the weight of an unknown past, and some of that shows in his behavior. Despite his dramatic name, Michael isn’t frightening—he’s simply a sensitive dog who reacts out of fear and may snap or try to bite when he feels unsafe or overwhelmed. What Michael needs most is a calm, patient, dog-savvy home that understands fear-based behavior. He will benefit from consistent training to help him learn manners, build confidence, and improve his potty routine. A quiet environment will help him feel secure and allow him the space he needs to adjust at his own pace. Because he startles easily, a home without small children is best. With time and trust, Michael reveals a softer side. His big, expressive eyes tell you everything he can’t say, and once he feels safe, he offers gentle moments of affection that feel truly earned. He may not be the right dog for everyone, but for someone who believes in second chances and understands the power of patience, Michael Myers has the potential to become an incredibly rewarding companion. If you’re ready to help a fearful pup rewrite his story, Michael may be waiting just for you. Adoption fee is: $100 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs. EIN # 46-5486022

Story
BOOSTS YOUR MOOD, MAKES YOU SMILE  Est. DOB 1/7/15, WEIGHT 12.7 lbs. Arf! Arf, everyone! I’m Sammy, a sweet, friendly, quiet, and affectionate white Maltipoo (Maltese/ Mini Poodle mix) fella who is, in my humble opinion, the world’s greatest little dog. I think my foster mom agrees because she loves it that I curl up and settle in her lap whenever I can. There are two resident dogs and a cat in my foster home, but I’m much rather interact with beloved Foster Mom than play with them. I have a comical idiosyncrasy: I like to burrow under anything I can move and get under. You name it – bedcovers, blankets, pillows, throws. Foster Mom thinks it’s adorable that a cute little thing such as I am likes to excavate my own little lair like a mole. Let me tell you a little about Maltipoos. We’re gentle, social dogs who love people. Our happy, cheerful dispositions are guaranteed to boost your mood and make you smile. We can even be good therapy dogs because of the comfort we provide. And I’m no exception to this profile! I really looked like a mess when my foster mom first rescued me! Oh my goodness – I weighed only 10 pounds! You could see every bone on my vertebrae, plus I had no hair on my back. My eyes were practically glued shut with “goop” from an infection; I also had an ear infection; and my mouth was a mess from neglected preventative dentistry. Thank heavens Foster Mom and the vet have transformed me into a new man! With a steady diet of nutritious food, I’ve gained 2.5 pounds, I’m filling out nicely, and my fur is growing back! I’m eating a soft diet that’s appropriate after all of the diseased teeth (that hadn’t already fallen out) have been pulled. I look and feel so much better! And the silver lining about having no teeth is that I don't need any future dental cleanings! Medications have cleared up my original eye and ear infections. The vet also diagnosed that I have a condition called “dry eye,” which means that I don’t produce tears like I should. So Foster Mom puts drops in my eyes twice a day and cleans out any “goop” once to twice a day Thanks to the hair around my eyes being clipped, Foster Mom can clean out my eyes easier. I have cataracts in both eyes so I have very limited visibility and bump into things, but get around once I've learned my way! I generally move slow so I don’t hurt myself ! Even though I sleep a good portion of the day, I am quite aware of sounds and scents. I will sound the alarm at unfamiliar noises. I will track Foster Mom down if she has moved from where I left her using my superior olfactory senses. My ideal home would be one that has a doggie door to a small fenced back yard and someone to keep me company.  I’m so grateful for all the love and attention that I’m getting! In return, I snuggle and cuddle like you wouldn’t believe! I’ve learned how to use the doggie door, and I’m now crate-trained. If you’re looking for a cozy lap dog and can look past my limitations, I’d really like to be your dog! Half of my life is still ahead of me, so let’s spend it together! My heart has so much love to give, all that’s missing is YOU! HOPE ID D22-1129-0031 Sammy's $200 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for heartworms, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment for heartworms and fleas. To apply online:http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php If you have questions prior to filling out the application or want to find out which adoption site Sammy will be this weekend, email us at lisagilchrist16@gmail.com, and a volunteer will get back to you. Story
If you would like more information about Kenny or are interested in adopting him, please send an email to joefisherhouston@gmail.com I found Kenny 11 months ago scrounging through dirt and trash at a bus stop. He was covered with dirt and feces, had fleas and was emaciated. His mouth was swollen with infection. The vet treated him for abnormal vitals and removed all of his teeth because of the infection. Kenny is back to health and scampering around. He does well eating soft or softened food. And he’s good with other dogs and children. Story
Toby, AKA Mr. T is a total attention hog and a love bug. He loves everyone, people are his favorite but he loves other dogs and even cats. He loves hugs too. He is a sensitive soul and loves to sleep in the bed with his people but is ok with another dog, a BBF to cuddle and wrestle with. His current BFF is Coco who is also available for adoption. It would be great if they could be adopted together but we realize that may not be possible so they can be separated. Toby and Coco are losing their home due to Moms health issues. They have done nothing wrong, they just shower her with love. They would love a large family with older kids so they can get attention from a lot of people! Potty trained and very obedient. Will do anything you ask for a healthy treat. HEB Apple Cinnamon Cookies are the current favorite. Toby is a male Shih Tzu with a date of birth of 10/4/21. He weighs 17 lbs.
