Story
Traveller is a great, beautiful boy who gets compliments on his every walk. He is a very calm dog who doesn't shed, drool, lick or bark. He is great with strangers, older kids, other dogs and our cats. He loves people and is gentle the vast majority of the time. His only behavioral issue is that he startles easily if he is touched while he is deeply asleep, and he may snap when startled awake. Because we have young children who may accidentally wake him abruptly, we feel it’s safest to place him in a home without small kids. He has never shown aggression in any other context. We rescued him from the road in Hollywood, SC about 5 years ago. We took him to Charleston Animal Society who made sure he wasn't anyone else's pet, gave him all of his shots and judged him to be about 5 years old. He does get nervous during storms and will want to stay near you during them. Please feel free to reach out with any questions at all.

Story
Dog: female, foxhound, 4-4.5 years old per vet, in good health with all vaccinations up to date and on flea/tick/heartworm meds monthly. Heartworm negative. No known issues medically. I found her in the middle of nowhere along the side of the highway the day before the 'snowstorm' last January 1/21/2025. The local shelter was full and I volunteered to 'foster' her for the next several days. She has since stayed in our home but she needs a better fit. She would do best with a work from home person or retired person/couple. She is best with someone home. She is good with our other 2 dogs (retriever and beagle) and our older cat. She likes to sleep most of the time. She loves dog food time, normal slow walks and praise. She is very sweet. She needs to be in a home with a person that is home most of the time and she's great. We are young family and we cannot provide what she needs. I don't want her to go to a shelter. She's a good/sweet one and just needs a homebody Plz help.

Story
Roy, affectionately known as Action Jackson from his earlier days in 2022, is back with us through absolutely no fault of his own. He’s a happy-go-lucky guy with a bunch of puppy-like traits still shining through. Roy’s the kind of dog who will push for couch cuddles and wants to hold your hand while he snuggles. He will cheerfully share your toilet paper stash if you leave it in reach—so watch out for that! He’s also very food-motivated, which means he’s super trainable if you have treats on hand and he’s happy to clean up after your kids! On top of that, Roy is a very quiet boy. He travels well in a car (sits like a perfect passenger), walks beautifully on a leash (does not pull), and he’s amazing in a kennel (one is highly recommended to save the toilet paper!). He’ll happily sleep there or just hang out during the day without any fuss. While he does enjoy shredding a good stuffed toy or chewing a bone, he’s more of a laid-back companion. And here’s the bonus: Roy is great with cats and other calmer dogs, making him a wonderful addition to a multi-pet household. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an application.  We do allow out of state adoptions and any transport costs are at the expense of the adopter.  If you have further questions about this dog, please email us at ccradopt@gmail.com and someone will be in touch as soon as possible. Please note we are unable to hold dogs for adopters as this ties up valuable foster homes. Please understand that we are an all volunteer group and we have jobs outside of this organization.  We do our best to provide quick responses but occasionally they are a little slower.  If you do not receive a response in 48 hours, please resend to make sure it's received. ##1303823##
