Story
Dog: female, foxhound, 4-4.5 years old per vet, in good health with all vaccinations up to date and on flea/tick/heartworm meds monthly. Heartworm negative. No known issues medically. I found her in the middle of nowhere along the side of the highway the day before the 'snowstorm' last January 1/21/2025. The local shelter was full and I volunteered to 'foster' her for the next several days. She has since stayed in our home but she needs a better fit. She would do best with a work from home person or retired person/couple. She is best with someone home. She is good with our other 2 dogs (retriever and beagle) and our older cat. She likes to sleep most of the time. She loves dog food time, normal slow walks and praise. She is very sweet. She needs to be in a home with a person that is home most of the time and she's great. We are young family and we cannot provide what she needs. I don't want her to go to a shelter. She's a good/sweet one and just needs a homebody Plz help.

Story
Roy, affectionately known as Action Jackson from his earlier days in 2022, is back with us through absolutely no fault of his own. He’s a happy-go-lucky guy with a bunch of puppy-like traits still shining through. Roy’s the kind of dog who will push for couch cuddles and wants to hold your hand while he snuggles. He will cheerfully share your toilet paper stash if you leave it in reach—so watch out for that! He’s also very food-motivated, which means he’s super trainable if you have treats on hand and he’s happy to clean up after your kids! On top of that, Roy is a very quiet boy. He travels well in a car (sits like a perfect passenger), walks beautifully on a leash (does not pull), and he’s amazing in a kennel (one is highly recommended to save the toilet paper!). He’ll happily sleep there or just hang out during the day without any fuss. While he does enjoy shredding a good stuffed toy or chewing a bone, he’s more of a laid-back companion. And here’s the bonus: Roy is great with cats and other calmer dogs, making him a wonderful addition to a multi-pet household. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an application.  We do allow out of state adoptions and any transport costs are at the expense of the adopter.  If you have further questions about this dog, please email us at ccradopt@gmail.com and someone will be in touch as soon as possible. Please note we are unable to hold dogs for adopters as this ties up valuable foster homes. Ariana Hounde is a dream! One look at her beautiful face and you just want to kiss it! She went from sad and defeated in an overcrowded shelter, to all smiles in her foster home enjoying the comforts she more than likely has never had. Ari is super sweet, laid back, and playful all rolled into one. She is food motivated and does have an impressive vertical jump when she sees something she likes. She's a great size around 45 lbs, mostly her long legs. Ari is ready to find her forever home. Could that be you? **This dog is heartworm positive and will be treated by the rescue and will be available for foster to adopt for a local family in or near Charleston, SC that is comfortable with the restriction requirements for the duration of treatment. Story
Traveller is a great, beautiful boy who gets compliments on his every walk. He is a very calm dog who doesn't shed, drool, lick or bark. He is great with strangers, older kids, other dogs and our cats. He loves people and is gentle the vast majority of the time. His only behavioral issue is that he startles easily if he is touched while he is deeply asleep, and he may snap when startled awake. Because we have young children who may accidentally wake him abruptly, we feel it’s safest to place him in a home without small kids. He has never shown aggression in any other context. We rescued him from the road in Hollywood, SC about 5 years ago. We took him to Charleston Animal Society who made sure he wasn't anyone else's pet, gave him all of his shots and judged him to be about 5 years old. He does get nervous during storms and will want to stay near you during them. Please feel free to reach out with any questions at all.

Story
Vinny is a friendly, outgoing Velcro hound that is feeling much better these days. He is eager to please, affectionate, and after living on the streets, he thoroughly enjoys a comfy sofa. He came to us with severe allergies that caused chronic ear infections. With a prescription diet food, his skin has improved dramatically. Unfortunately, his ears didn’t respond to various treatments and he has had Total Ear Canal Ablation (TECA) on both of his ears. This involves removing the entire ear canal. While many dogs are deaf post-surgery, Vinny can still hear sounds and vibrations. Vinny also has what is called sebaceous adenitis. This is an autoimmune disease that causes cells in the immune system to destroy the sebaceous glands in the skin which secrete oils that are important for coat and skin health. It’s also believed he has some mild allergies. He will require lifelong medications to keep his skin happy and comfortable as well as allergy friendly foods, but he’s well managed now and he’s looking SO much better! And as amazing as dogs are, he has no idea he is any different. He loves to stand on his back legs and put his front paws on your waist to give you a hug. He’s an energetic boy looking for a home with another playful dog and someone to love him forever. We know that Vinny’s continued care will make it hard to find him a forever home, but we know the perfect one is out there for him! If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an application.  We do allow out of state adoptions and any transport costs are at the expense of the adopter.  If you have further questions about this dog, please email us at ccradopt@gmail.com and someone will be in touch as soon as possible. Story
Gerald is a gentle, lanky boy who starts out a little timid, but once he knows you’re safe, he becomes your best friend. He was found by his foster family after it looked like he was dumped on their property. After trying to find who he belonged to with no luck, it was apparent someone else’s so called trash, is now a treasure! He will put his head in your hand and look at you with pure adoration. Like he truly is thankful to not be lost anymore. He loves playing with other dogs once he’s comfortable and enjoys relaxing on his bed for little naps throughout the day. He is also great with children and will make sure to follow them everywhere. He’s a big fan of walks and sniffing all the fun scents in the air. Gerald is a soft, loving boy that deserves the very best home.  **This dog is heartworm positive and will be treated by the rescue and will be available for foster to adopt for a local family in or near Charleston, SC that is comfortable with the restriction requirements for the duration of treatment.
