Meet Marcus — a gentle Black Mouth Cur mix still waiting for the love he deserves. Marcus’s story is a heartbreaking one. In December 2024, the person who was supposed to love him dropped him — along with two other dogs — at a boarding facility and never came back. Since that day, Marcus has spent over a year living in a kennel, paying the price for a human’s failure. And yet… he’s still sweet, still hopeful, still waiting. The hardest part? Marcus is the only one still left behind. One of his former fur siblings is now safe in a foster home, and the other has already been adopted. Marcus is still waiting for his turn. Marcus is a Black Mouth Cur mix, about 3–4 years old, neutered, and up to date on vaccines. He’s a sensitive boy who may be a little shy at first, but once he feels safe, his loving and gentle personality shines. He walks nicely on leash, enjoys quiet companionship, and would love nothing more than a calm, cozy home. Marcus would do best in a home with no cats and no children, as too much activity makes him nervous. Having another calm, friendly dog around his size could be a great fit for Marcus and help him build confidence. A dog introduction is required to ensure a good match. Oh my, aren't I Handsome? With my adorable one ear up. This gorgeous guy needs a foster OR forever home! Thor has been let down by humans enough times in his short life, that he has gotten used to depending on only himself. Don’t get us wrong, Thor has been a golden-eyed gentleman here at our rescue! But Thor has shown that he is also an adult dog, who can entertain himself with a rope or well-timed ball toss. Thor has co-existed around other dogs in the play yard, but prefers to spend his time playing by himself. Just look at him playing catch with himself! So smart! Thor knows how to Sit, Shake, and Lay Down for a treat and sleeps in his kennel every night! . We have been told Thor once lived with a 6 year old child, but became very protective of all toys in the home. We are requiring that all humans living with Thor are 15+ at this time. Meet Spicy Tuna! Spicy Tuna is actually pretty mild as his personality is sweet and loving as can be. He’s a part of our Bento Box crew that recently joined our rescue from a horrible hoarding case and is now with us at boarding. In his few short days in our care he’s already becoming a favorite. 91 pounds of pure love, Spicy Tuna is quite the catch. He’s friendly with new people and loves affection. Spicy Tuna is a huge goofball and will 100% always have a smile on your face. He loves to run around the yard, scratch his back on the grass and an overall fun guy to be around. Spicy Tuna is very smart and obedient, coming in already knowing commands such as “Sit,” “Down,” “Paw” and recalls well. Spicy Tuna is dog-friendly and appears to be potty-trained. He would love a place and a couch to call home.
