Story
Hello, I'm Road Block, an 11-month-old black mouth cur mix bursting with youthful energy and a playful spirit. Despite my exuberance, I can be a bit shy at first, especially outside of my comfort zone. Once I warm up, though, I promise to shower you with love and affection. I enjoy the company of other dogs and wouldn't mind having a furry companion in my forever home. While I'm good with kids, I would do best with older children who can understand my need for patience and help me build confidence. I dream of finding a loving family who will cherish me and help me overcome my initial shyness. If you think you could be the one to give me a chance, please ask a staff member about meeting me. I'm eager to find a warm and supportive home where I can thrive.

Story
Hi, I'm Maggie, an adorable Black Mouth Cur mix now over a year old with a heartwarming story to tell. I was rescued from a tough situation as a puppy and found my way to Big Dog Ranch Rescue after facing the scary prospect of being placed on a euthanasia list at a Southern shelter. Can you believe they were going to kill me when I was still only 6 mo. old? Well, Despite my rocky start, my personality is still all about sweetness, affection, and boundless playfulness. I'm a favorite with the other dogs I play with and I love making new friends! I absolutely thrive outdoors. Playtime is my favorite, especially when fun toys are involved! If you want a furry companion who embodies resilience, love, and the pure joy of puppyhood (although I am now more of a toddler) come get me cuz I'm your girl. You can visit me at Big Dog Ranch Rescue and ask to meet me. I'm more than ready to fill your days with joy, laughter, and unforgettable doggy adventures in my new loving forever home.

Story
Hello, I'm Jackson, and my journey began with a life-changing rescue from a Miami animal shelter way back in 2020 so I have been at Big Dog Ranch more than half my life. My heart's greatest wish is to find an adult-only family, where I can embrace the role of a cherished king, savoring every moment of love and attention. To help me become the happiest version of myself, an experienced dog owner who understands my unique quirks would be a dream come true. While I'm mostly laid-back and in my golden years, what truly lights up my day is spending quality time with you. I do have a bit of a vocal side, so don't be surprised if you hear me express myself! Additionally, I seem to have a decent prey drive, making a home without cats the best choice for me. I'm a friendly and sociable soul, always excited to meet new people and welcome visitors with open paws. Will YOU make me an integral part of your life's journey? Don't I deserve MY forever home? Guess what? Big Dog Ranch offers us a FREE training session when you adopt me. Let's get to it!

Story
Hi I am Troi, the water-loving sweetheart with a zest for life! I was surrendered to BDRR to find my forever home! I am an energetic pup that adores splashing around and enjoying all things aquatic. Despite my high energy, I stay clean during the day, making me a breeze to care for. I am a toy enthusiast and love playtime with my favorite companions. I get along well with most dogs but battles separation anxiety, so I would thrive in a home with another furry friend who helps me through it. Prospective families should understand my need for company and be prepared to address my separation anxiety with patience and care. I can bring endless love and fun to a home ready to embrace my unique needs. I hope to find my forever home soon!

Story
Rudy (a.k.a. "Little Man") is a healthy 2-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback Mix. He is neutered, housetrained, and has been vetted. He is full of personality! He is sweet, extremely cuddly, doesn’t like to be alone, and loves toys! He does know commands such as sit, off, laydown, stop, and heel. He is crate trained but prefers to be out with you and sleep with you. Rudy was abandoned by his previous owners, so he does have some abandonment/ anxiety issues when left alone (his foster parents said this has improved the longer he has been living with them). He is mischievous (as all puppies can be at two), but not house or shoe destructive; however, don't turn your back to your food for too long! Rudy could benefit from some behavioral training, specifically, how to greet visitors when entering the house and leash aggression issues with both bicycles and other dogs walking with their owners. Outside of those two items, he walks well on a leash. He is food-motivated and smart, so he will train quickly with consistency and the right approach. He is best suited for experienced dog owners or someone who will invest their time in retraining him. There is something truly special about him, and I would love to see him find his new forever home that will treat him like the prince he knows he is! To learn more about Rudy or the schedule a meet-n-greet, please contact Kimberly Pantke at 631-988-7845 or via email at kimberlypantke@yahoo.com.
