Peele is the sweetest Hound / Black Mouth Cur mix that's about 6-years-old. Peele's story is one thatshows the true devotion of a dog and human bond. He was living in the car with his owner for nearly a year which is not easy for 80lb dog. His mom was homeless and refused to move into housing that wouldn't allow her to bring Peele so she chose to stay with him in her car. Good samaritans, including one of our staff members, were trying to get Peele and his mom somewhere safe. Finally, Peele was able to come to Abandoned Pet Rescue and his owner found affordable housing. Peele is a gentle boy that walks well on a leash and loves affection. He is friendly with other dogs and would be a nice companion for many types of families. I love burrowing under blankets where it's warm and cozy. I know many commands like sit, paw, heel and have excellent house manners. I love water so if you have a pool, consider me in! I enjoy long walks with the shelter volunteers, especially when the take be inside the pet stores for treats. I am a smart cookie (or cake, that is), and I'm ready to blow out my candle and make my one wish for a forever home. I'm fully vetted, spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. He is currently being fostered in Lake Worth Fl, with a family who has 3 small children. He is absolutely obsessed with his foster Dad! He loves the kids and playing with his toys, he is completely potty trained and crate trained. We rescued Balto from Animal Care and Control after he went unnoticed amongst the countless other dogs, who came and went since he was there for 4 long months. It’s honestly inconceivable that this sweet boy was never adopted. He loves affection, he walks perfectly on a leash and just desires attention and a place to run and play! He is good with other dogs, weighs 65lbs. He deserves his own family for the Holidays! Balto is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.
