Meet Luna! This gentle giant is 6 years old and very sweet with everyone she meets and is very gentle and patient with small children. She loves to play with the other dogs in her foster home and isn’t fazed by the cats that live there. Her favorite thing to do is sit in the bay window and watch the activities of the cul-de-sac. Luna wants to be with you and share the couch, but she won’t complain if you’d rather she lay close by on a dog bed. Luna would do well in any home with any combination of people and pets. Apply to adopt her today! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. ADOPTION FEE SPONSORED!! Maybelle is a fan favorite amongst our volunteers and we are eager to find an adopter who recognizes that she's an absolute gem. This shorthaired mixed breed beauty is the color of a perfectly blended vanilla latte. She is a lively young girl probably 2-3 years old. Maybelle is fully grown at 38 pounds, her long legs make her look like a bigger dog. She's a playful pup, the perfect mix of intelligence, affection and athleticism. She loves to zoom around the yard playing with her toys and will happily entertain herself when her people are busy. She does enjoy "liberating" all toy squeakers. Maybelle bonds closely to her favorite people and loves to make new friends. She's so happy to go for rides in the car, especially with a pit stop for a pup cup. Did we mention she's whip smart? She knows Sit, Down and Shake and loves to learn new tricks. Maybelle would be fine as an only dog, soaking up all of the love and attention she can. If you'd like to meet Maybelle, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org.  We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Maybelle at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Zelie’s past is a mystery, like so many dogs who find their way to rescue, but what we do know is that she’s a gentle, loving girl with a heart ready to bloom. She can be a little shy at first, but once she feels safe, her sweet personality shines through. Zelie adores her person and will happily follow you everywhere — she might even step on the backs of your feet just to stay close! She would thrive in a calm, patient home that can help her continue building confidence, and she’d love a confident doggy friend to learn from. She is crate trained and often uses her crate when things get a bit too busy. She has been through alot in the past 6 months and has finally been ready for her own family. Frances is going to be a great addition to any home. Buddy is approximately 12 years old. He is extremely nervous and shy. He was a companion dog for us. My landlord has required me to rehome Buddy. He has been around other dogs that we owned at one time. Due to personal issues, the owner can no longer take care of Buddy and he needs a good home. Someone with patience would be welcome.
