Story
Meet Stavro! This 8-month-old, 52-pound Black Mouth Cur mix is equal parts playful goofball and snuggly lovebug. Stavro is a social butterfly who gets along great with other dogs and has done wonderfully with kids—he was a total gem with his foster’s five-year-old and two resident pups! Stavro is crate trained, rides well in the car, and lives for a good game of fetch. He’s full of youthful energy and loves to romp around the yard or wrestle with his canine friends, but once he’s gotten his zoomies out, he’s all about the cuddles. He’ll happily flop his whole body across your lap, soaking up all the belly rubs and attention he can get. He’s still learning some manners, but he’s a smart, eager-to-please young pup who just needs a little guidance to polish up his social skills. With the right mix of play, routine, and snuggles, Stavro is going to make an amazing adventure buddy and couch companion for one lucky family. Ready to meet your new best friend? Stavro is waiting!

ARRIVING IN THE NORTHEAST ON SATURDAY MARCH 15! adoption donation : $699 weight 34 lbs Age 5 months as of 3/24           Sweet Schatzi and her three sisters, Eva, Gretel and Freya, were left in the driveway at the Wags rescue in Mississippi, an all too common occurrence.      The puppies have been having a grand time playing together and snuggling in a puppy pile to nap. They have all been spayed and given their vaccines and are ready for loving homes. All of the girls are around 35 pounds, they were born in late October. They are friendly and loving and will make great family dogs.    Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs.  Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter at one of the clinics we use. For more information on adopting Schatzi or any of our Wags dogs please email mariaeftimiades@yahoo.com    March 12, 2025, 8:06 am

Story
adoption donation : $499 weight 50 lbs Age  3 years        Layne is a beautiful 3-year-old, 50 lb golden pup who came to us pretty timid and scared of the world but has since gained a lot of confidence. She wants to be loved and give love in return. Layne lives with other dogs, kids and a baby. She is a sweetheart and a quiet girl—she is the only dog in the house who does not bark at the mailman!    Layne loves to run in the yard and watch the birds fly by so a fenced yard is preferred. She adores loves playing fetch and treat time. She loves romping around the yard with her four-legged foster brothers and would love a canine companion! Layne does well with senior dogs as well.      Layne also has a foster brother, Puddles, who is her very best buddy so if an adopter  was potentially looking for two dogs they would be a perfect pair!       Layne is the quintessential family dog, she is gentle and loving and will make a wonderful member of the family.     For more information on adopting Layne please email   ramellakwolek@gmail.com    June 22, 2025, 7:29 am

Story
Elena is a black mouth cur/shepherd mix, and 50-55 lbs. She is extremely loyal and loves getting cuddles from her people. She likes to nose butt your arm for attention, and absolutely loves squeaky toys. She also will just stare at you with her gorgeous, soft eyes, and will you to scratch or kiss her :) She is house trained, crate trained, and good with other animals/children. Her foster has 6 dogs and 1 cat that she gets along with really well; however, it is worth mentioning that she can get territorial in a new environment with other dogs, so it would be best for her to go to an experienced dog home, or as an only dog. Honestly, she can be with other dogs as long as you are the boss and she knows it :) Elena knows how to sit;wait to eat her food until she is told to &"go ahead "She loves kids, and does well with even the littlest ones hugging on her. One of her favorite hobbies is to watch the squirrels in the backyard. She will sit and watch them for hours, if allowed to! Elena is such a good dog, and is ready for her furever home. Would you be willing to give this sweet girl a chance? Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Red your new best friend in the making! Red had a rough start in life, found living in poor conditions under a house with his sibling. But since being rescued, he’s turned into a happy, loving pup who’s ready for his next chapter! This sweet boy has been thriving in his foster home. He’s crate trained, knows how to sit like a pro, and gets along great with other dogs and kids. Walks are one of his favorite things—he gets excited at first, but once he settles in, he’s a great leash buddy. Red is a total sweetheart who’ll happily sit for a treat and loves meeting new friends. He enjoys all kinds of toys, but nothing beats a good bully stick or chew bone in his book. He’s fun, friendly, and full of love—just waiting to share it with his forever family. Could that be you?
