*Woof* Meet me at 71 Oglethorpe St NW between 12pm-7pm daily!BAAA-ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Did you hear that sound? That`s Milo the Bloodhound doing what Bloodhounds do best. These guys could win a Grammy for their vocal skills. But good boy Milo plans to sing love songs in hopes of being adopted. Milo is 104 pounds of sniffing curiosity. He is a sweet fella with a big agenda. Bloodhounds are a very active breed and love to go on sniffy adventures. If you like a frisky, get-up and go dog, Milo is your man. We recommend doing breed research if you are interested in this sweetheart. Milo is really a very nice dog and he would love to meet- and sniff- you.A volunteer who recently spent time with him had this to share: What a sweet, gentle giant! Milo loves to go on a leisurely walk to sniff around. He is also great about checking in with his human for reassurance on walks. Adorable Milo is a total sweetheart.

Story
This is our sweet baby Mary Jane. She is a 1 year old Blood Hound that loves to sleep and play. She needs an owner that is home more than not. That is sadly why we have to give her up since we are gone for 10- 11 hours out of the day. She loves to play with other dogs and everyone who meets her falls in love with her. Although her nose can get her into trouble sometimes, she makes up for it with her sweet and bubbly personality. We really don’t want to give her up but we want her to go to a family who will give her the time she deserves.

These pups are in Washington, District of Columbia too!

Story
House trained: Yes Energy level: Low Noise level: Quiet My foster guardian says: My favorite thing about Roscoe is how he gently asks for pets! Likes: Taking walks and getting pets Hi there, Im Roscoe! Im a super sweet, laid back, gentle guy. Some of my favorite things to do are taking long walks, and napping in the sun. I also like to play with my toys, by myself or with my humans, and get all the snuggles. Im a bit of a shy guy, and I dont love loud noises, but other than that Im a happy pup. I like to meet new doggy friends, and love playing with other dogs. Im a little hesitant around human strangers, and the only time my foster mom has heard me bark is when someone I dont know comes to visit. After a few minutes though, Im happy to make friends, and Im gaining confidence as I get more settled in D.C. My foster mom describes me as very polite and well-behaved because Im crate trained, potty-trained, and dont try to get on the furniture. I know come and leave it, and Id be happy to learn even more tricks with my forever family. If youre looking for a gentle pup who will shower you with love and be a loyal walk buddy for life, Im your guy! Apply to adopt me today! Story
If you are looking for a loyal outdoor companion with a heart of gold, say hello to Kahlua—an 8-year-old Treewalker Coonhound mix who defines “good ole’ boy” in the best possible way. Around 60 pounds of love and sweetness, Kahlua lives for sunshine, breezes, rustling leaves, and long, thoughtful walks. He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t rush through life—he notices everything, appreciates the little things, and reminds you to slow down and enjoy the moment. Kahlua has impeccable manners. Need to tie your shoe? He’ll stop and wait. Collar slips off? He’ll walk right over so you can fix it. He listens beautifully and truly wants to please his person. He also has a fun side—he loves squeaky toys, playing fetch (sharing the ball is a work in progress!), giving kisses, and being tucked in under cozy blankets like the pampered hound he is.  This boy is also a lake and boat enthusiast—a true water bug who will happily join you for every lakeside adventure. He grew up with other dogs and prefers being the “big guy,” doing well with respectful smaller dogs or calmer companions. Solo walks? He’s relaxed and steady. With bigger, energetic dogs? He may pull a bit in excitement. Kahlua loves kids who treat him kindly and is friendly toward cats, even though he didn’t share a home with them before. Above all else, Kahlua is drawn to people who make him feel loved—give him attention and he’ll give you his whole heart. He does get springtime seasonal allergies, so starting Apoquel in February or early March keeps him feeling his best. It’s a simple bit of care for a dog who gives so much sweetness in return. Kahlua’s former mama adored him deeply but faced life changes that made caring for him impossible. Now he’s ready for a forever home where he can spend his years surrounded by stability, love, comfort, and a family who appreciates everything he has to offer. Kahlua is ready to be someone’s best friend. If you want a loyal companion with an old soul and endless love to share, come meet this wonderful boy.  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested in giving this boy the years of his life as your best sidekick ever   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 22, 2025, 9:52 pm
