Story
Meet Mayfly! Mayfly came to us as a stray, and took no time at all to show us that true bloodhound personality. Mayfly's ideal home will appreciate her classic Hound-y charm! She is vocal, a little stubborn, and loves to follow her nose. She is a mature middle aged girl who's over all that silly puppy business, she's ready to find her retirement home full of yummy snacks and interesting smells! Mayfly knows "sit", "shake", and "lay down", but like any hound she prefers to work in exchange for payment (like her favorite chicken treats!). May has done okay with other dogs in the shelter, and seems to be neutral with cats. She appears to be potty trained. If you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in to do a meet and greet before taking Mayfly home. If you are interested in meeting Mayfly, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit. Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 63 Age: 7yrs 1mths 0wks

Story
Louise and Thelma came in when they were posted on Facebook for free. The local shelter contacted us to see if we could bring them in to find them a safe home. They are bonded and will need to stay together. They would do best in a home with just the two of them. They are super cuddly and would be amazing Netflix binge watching partners! If you have a quiet home and would like to give these special gals a forever home please contact us!

Story
Ava is a wonderfully sweet girl. She came in as an owner surrender. She lost her front leg when she was hit by a car at a very young age. She is great with other dogs but does need quieter dogs as she can get overwhelmed by high energy dogs since she can't move very fast. She does have a thyroid condition and will need a home that can make sure she is getting her daily medication to keep it under control. She also needs to be kept on a strict diet to keep her from gaining any extra weight. with only one front leg she can't have any extra weight on those joints. She loves people and is quiet the cuddle bug. She lives with a 6yr old child and does great, she would do best in a home with older children due to her mobility challenges. If you would like to give Miss Ava a home of her own please fill out our application at www.southcentralbloodhounds.org/adoption.

Story
Copper and Goldie came in on an owner surrender. They are both very sweet and have gotten along with the fosters resident hounds. They are very bonded and depend on each other for security. They are learning to live in the house and are now potty trained. They would benefit from a quiet home where they could get lots of love, give lots of kisses and have room to run. Goldie will need a secure fence as she sometimes tends to take herself for walks! If you would be interested in giving this sweet pair a home of their own please contact us at adopt@southcentralbloodhounds.org. Thank you!

Story
Ace was brought in as a stray to a shelter in Kentucky. He and the other male were extremely emaciated and full of fleas and ticks. They both went to a wonderful foster and now look like different hounds! Ace is an old soul, for being only 4 yrs old he is wise beyond his years. He is good with other dogs and will play but he is just as content to hang out with his human. He would make a wonderful scent work partner or a hiking buddy. He is incredibly sweet and would love a human of his own. He would do best in a home without cats. If you would be interested in giving Ace a wonderful home of his own please contact us!

Story
🚨 WANTED: An Accomplice (with Snacks) 🚨 Meet our resident criminal mastermind: a 2-year-old female Bloodhound who has officially outgrown her amateur mischief phase and is now a fully certified professional. She is spayed, microchipped, and entirely potty trained—because professionals have standards. The Rap Sheet: • Professional Counter Surfer: If it is left on the counter, it belongs to her. It’s not stealing; it’s an active investigation by her nose. • Locksmith Extraordinaire: Think a closed door will stop her? Think again. She is highly intelligent and can open doors. You will need to upgrade your home security (or just accept your new furry shadow). • Mischief Maker: She treats life like a game of Ocean’s Eleven, and she is definitely George Clooney. • People Pleaser: When she isn't planning her next heist, she is a total love bug who fiercely loves to play and just wants to be with her people. What she is looking for: An active family with high counters, sturdy door handles, and a massive supply of love. If you want a boring, predictable dog, look elsewhere. But if you want a brilliant, hilarious companion who will keep you laughing and on your toes every single day, she is your girl. If you would be interested in Harp please contact us!
