Story
Harley is an 8 year old female bloodhound who enjoys most days lounging around.  She is very calm, listens well, more of a velcro dog (if you go out, she follows, you go inside, she follows).  Harley loves walks, but when she is in the house very low energy.  Prefers a home with older children, she is more of a grumpy old lady and enjoys peaceful days just chillin.  She requires routine ear cleaning and occasionally she will require medicated eye drops.  We have her entire medical history and will provide to her new owner. Adoption Process If you are ready to meet the pet, please fill out an online adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your internet browser: https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/10666/generic Once your application is submitted, we will contact the vet reference provided. If you do not yet have a vet, please provide three personal references – these could be family and friends who can attest to your pet parenting skills. A volunteer will schedule a phone interview with you. The interview and application help our fosters find their forever home by ensuring a good match.   The Louisa Humane Society does not have a brick and mortar facility, so all of our pets are in foster care. Once approved, the foster parent will reach out to arrange a visit. The foster family can tell you all about her likes, dislikes, and little quirks.  The application and visit do not oblige you to adopt, but if you’re ready to take the pet home as your furry forever friend, the adoption fee is $150. ##2038076##

Story
Tink is a very sweet and affectionate bloodhound who loves attention and cries for it when she feels neglected. She is a true love bug, always ready to shower you with affection. Tink came to us as a stray with infected eyes and covered in fleas and ticks. She will need entropion surgery in the near future. Despite her rough start, Tink has a gentle spirit and has been around other dogs.Tink will need some leash training. The leash scares her.Tink will require entropion surgery to correct her eye condition. Potential adopters should be prepared to manage her medical needs and provide the necessary care.Tink would thrive in a loving home where she can receive plenty of attention and care. She gets along well with other dogs and would do well in a household with other canine companions. Her new family should be ready to support her through her upcoming surgery and recovery. We believe she has spent most of her life as an outside dog so she would need training on housebreaking.Tink did very well with her cat test. We believe she would be okay with cats in the home. If you're interested in adopting Tink and giving her a loving forever home, please reach out to us today!Tink will be available for adoption once she is spayed. Tank is a very sweet and affectionate bloodhound who loves attention and cries for it when he feels neglected. He is a true love bug, always ready to shower you with affection. Tank came in with his daughter we believe. They came to us as strays with infected eyes and they were both covered in fleas and ticks. He will need entropion surgery in the near future. Despite his rough start, Tank has a gentle spirit and has been around other dogs.He will require some leash training. He has never been on the leash and it scares him.Tank will require entropion surgery to correct his eye condition. Potential adopters should be prepared to manage his medical needs and provide the necessary care.Tank would thrive in a loving home where he can receive plenty of attention and care. He gets along well with other dogs and would do well in a household with other canine companions. His new family should be ready to support him through his upcoming surgery and recovery. Tank was tested with cats and he was scared of them. We believe if he goes into a home with a cat that likes dogs and they do not try to scare him he would be okay. He stayed behind his person the whole time and just shook. If you're interested in adopting Tank and giving him a loving forever home, please reach out to us today! He will be available for adoption once he is neutered. Story
Bruce is a fabulous example of a forgiving and loving dog that was abandoned and found himself on the streets of a small town in Tennessee.  He had nowhere to go and some kind people took him in to hold him safely while Critter Cavalry Rescue takes time to find him the best home ever.   He is a Plott hound/Pit mix from what we can see in his markings and his stature.  He is 2 years old and 65 pounds and he is one special dog that is so handsome and is truly a gentle giant!  This boy has everything going for him with great house manners and housebroken as well.  He crate trained and is living in a foster home in an apartment.  He is a medium energy young man that gets along well with the other dog in his foster home.  He loves play time outside, as well as being a snuggly couch potato. Bruce is learning to walk on leash and will need daily practice to stop pulling. He loves to ride in a car, likes carrots and ice cubes. When at home he loves to look out the window and will do that for hours.  Recently he spent some time boarding and was a favorite with the staff and he demonstrated an ability to be very sweet and easy with some of the children of the staff members.  The only NO about Bruce is that he is not fond of cats, so no feline siblings.  He would probably do best with another gentle, playful dog of his same size.  He would be fine being the only dog and always center of attention, too!  Older children over 7 years of age might be best, but only because of his size.  If you are looking for a best friend and/or family member to run, hike, play, explore, and then curl up for some couch time, Bruce is your guy!  He is so beautiful and regal.  He looks around like he is surveying his kingdom and hoping that all is well.  You could really make his life a happy ending if you could consider adopting Bruce.  Please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and ask all the questions that you need and also ask for an adoption form. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 24, 2024, 9:44 am

Story
Meet Mister Meener, the lovable goofball with a heart of gold! This affectionate pup is always ready to shower you with love and cuddles. With his friendly nature, Mister Meener is sure to bring joy and laughter to your home. Although he can be a bit jumpy and unaware of his size, Mister Meener's enthusiasm is contagious and adds to his charm. Due to his possessiveness of food, he would thrive in a home with kids ages 10 years and older who understand his needs and can provide a safe environment. For now, Mister Meener would do best as the only dog in the home until he receives further socialization. With patience and love, he's sure to blossom into an even more amazing companion. No kitty-cats for him, though. If you're ready for a bundle of love, Mister Meener is waiting to wiggle his way into your heart! Email christy.hemsworth@rva.gov to be introduced to him today!
