Story
Maggie is a beautiful Plott Hound mix who has come an incredibly long way in foster care and continues to impress everyone she meets. She is a deeply affectionate dog who forms strong bonds with her people. In foster care, she has become increasingly cuddly and confident, happily seeking out attention and affection. When invited, she will come over for kisses and even wrap her paws around her favorite people in the sweetest way. Maggie loves spending time outdoors, soaking up the sunshine, watching birds, and exploring the yard. In a secure area, she enjoys off-leash time and reliably returns to the door when she is ready to come inside. She also has a playful side and loves chasing sticks and interacting with her people. One of her proudest accomplishments is her dedication to training. She recently graduated from a beginner obedience class and did so well that her trainer highly praised her progress. Maggie is now enrolled in an advanced training program with additional obedience classes and private sessions to keep building her skills and confidence. She is house trained, crate trained, and settles nicely into a household routine. She enjoys being part of the family while also being able to relax independently when needed. Because of her prey drive, Maggie is not a fit for homes with cats or small animals. She can also be reactive to some small dogs and will need thoughtful introductions to other dogs. With proper management and continued training, she has shown that she is capable of making excellent progress. Maggie is looking for an adopter who will appreciate her intelligence, loyalty, and loving personality while continuing the training and structure that have helped her thrive. She has already come so far, and she continues to blossom every day. To meet Maggie or learn more about her, email adoptpetersburg@gmail.com.

Story
Meet Katya!  She recently gave birth to eight puppies. At just 18 months old and about 50 pounds, Katya is still very much a puppy herself. After doing an amazing job raising her babies, she’s ready to enjoy life, have fun, and be spoiled in a loving forever home. Katya loves to play! She happily chases balls, grabs toys and zooms around the yard, and spends hours playing with her terrier foster sister. She also enjoys exploring and investigating everything around her. Like many young dogs, she may occasionally stroll by with a slipper in her mouth, just to remind you she’s still a puppy at heart. She is also incredibly affectionate. Katya loves curling up next to her people on the couch for pets and snuggles, or simply lying nearby wherever her family is gathered. She wants to be part of the action and close to the people she loves. She isn’t a big barker. If someone approaches the house, she’ll let you know, but otherwise she’s generally quiet and easygoing. At night, she sleeps peacefully in her crate and goes in willingly without fuss. She has learned to use the doggie door at her foster home and has been accident-free since figuring out the routine.Katya gets along wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys playing with her foster sister. She has also spent time around young children and genuinely enjoys being around people. Because of some possible hardships earlier in life, she may take a little extra time to warm up to men. However, once trust is established, she is affectionate and loving. She now happily seeks out her foster dad for scratches and pets. One of her sweetest qualities is how attentively she listens when you talk to her. She gazes into your eyes as if she understands every word. And she definitely knows how cute she is when she gently places a paw on your arm or in your lap—something she does often and always melts hearts.Katya is a gentle, loving, joyful girl who deserves a happy ending after spending so much of her young life caring for others. Now it’s her turn to be cared for, loved, and cherished. If you would like to give Katya the Cinderella story she deserves, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and let us know where you live. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 18, 2026, 12:23 am

Story
Meet Cowboy – A Little Blonde Adventurer with a Big Heart!   Cowboy is exactly what his name suggests—a spirited little cowboy with a heart full of adventure and enough personality to keep you smiling every single day! Born on April 14, this handsome, Catahoula mix, blonde puppy is growing into an affectionate, confident, fun-loving companion who is always ready to explore whatever comes next.   His beautiful mom is a sweet, gentle Catahoula mix called Katya, with the most wonderful temperament. Cowboy has clearly inherited her loving nature. She has raised an exceptional litter, and every one of her puppies has been friendly, happy, and eager to make new friends.   At about 11 pounds, Cowboy is thriving on three good meals a day and growing like a weed! We expect him to mature into a gorgeous 45–50-pound adult with an athletic build and plenty of energy for hiking trails, backyard games, family adventures, or simply being your faithful sidekick wherever life takes you.   Cowboy is everything you hope for in a puppy. He is curious about the world, fearless without being reckless, and always ready to investigate something new. He loves to romp and play, chase toys, wrestle with his puppy friends, and then proudly come back to check in with his people. His confidence is one of our favorite things about him—he approaches new experiences with enthusiasm and a wagging tail.   He has been lovingly raised around young children and other dogs, giving him an excellent start socially. We also expect him to do well with cats, especially with proper introductions. Cowboy enjoys being held and loved on throughout the day, but when evening comes and the excitement winds down, this busy little guy transforms into an expert snuggle bug who is happiest curled up beside the people he loves.   Cowboy is currently receiving all of his puppy vaccinations and is healthy, happy, and ready to find a family that will continue helping him grow into the amazing dog we know he'll become. He would thrive in a home that enjoys an active lifestyle, where he can get plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and, of course, lots of love and cuddles.   If you've been searching for a puppy who is equal parts playful adventurer and devoted cuddle buddy, Cowboy may just be the perfect addition to your family. He's ready to spend a lifetime making memories, sharing adventures, and loving his people with his whole heart.   To learn more about Cowboy or to apply to adopt him, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.   Your new best friend might just be waiting for you.

Story
Meet Catalina  – A Beautiful Catahoula mix girl puppy looking for her forever adventure with you!   Catalina is a gorgeous puppy who was born on April 14th and currently weighs 14 pounds as of July 6th .  Her momma is colored just like her and is a Catahoula mix (mostly Catahoula) and is the most wonderful young adult girl with a beautiful spirit and temperament.  All the puppies have received her personality that is loving and fun and confident.    Like so many puppies across the South, Catalina was born to a momma dog that was a stray and the litter of 8 puppies were with a struggling single mom with 3 kids that found her jpregnant and needing a place to have her babies.  At 6 weeks Critter Cavalry Rescue took the big family with their momma and promised to help find everyone a home that would be perfect for them.  Miss Catalina has been raised around young children, other grown dogs, her puppy siblings and has attended many  Puppy Yoga classes at the local YMCAs in Tennessee.  She is no stranger to meeting new people at all.  Currently her foster home is teaching her crate training, potty breaks and routines and she is coming along nicely.  Her active breed and intelligence for exploring and seeking new adventures, will require her to be in a home with a fenced yard.  She will most likely be a 50 pound adult like her beautiful mom Katyia.     This sweet girl is everything you love about a young vibrant, cuddly fun puppy.  She is smart, curious, playful, and eager to explore the world around her. She is quiet and yet can get the playful zoomies when encouraged by her playmate canines.  She will easily form strong bonds with those who show her kindness.   Catalina loves other dogs and would enjoy having a canine companion to play with and also cuddle. She would also thrive as the center of attention in an active home. Most importantly, she is ready to begin making memories with a family who will include her in their adventures.   A securely fenced yard will be a requirement for Catalina's new future home.  This will give her a safe place to run and burn off puppy energy. Daily walks, outings, and continued training will help her grow into the amazing companion we know she can be. All she needs now is someone willing to take a chance on her. In return, she’ll spend every day showing her gratitude with tail wags, kisses, and unwavering devotion.   ❤️ If you’re looking for a best friend to share life’s adventures, Catalina  may be the perfect match. To learn more or apply to adopt her, please email ccrnewengland@gmail.com and tell us where you live when inquiring. Critter Cavalry Rescue is based in Tennessee and adopts throughout Tennessee and the Northeast, with transport available almost every weekend.
