Story
Relishing his second chance at life is 4-month-old Reggie. At a trim 20 pounds, the black and white dappled beauty, so sweet and so social, so confident and so calm, loves being close to his fosters and especially loves having his belly rubbed. He also LOVES playing with two of his doggy foster friends, wrestling and running around the house and the yard and napping on multiple dog beds to recharge his puppy batteries. Highly intelligent, eager to please and easy to teach, motivated by food and love, he currently knows “come,” “sit” and “no” and gets along with the resident cats. Crate trained and diligently at work on his house-training, Reggie will flourish in a loving home, preferably with another energetic canine companion, and active adopters who will complete his training, including his commands, and ensure that his second life is his best paws-ible life.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $450 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit). Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Story
If courage had a face, it would be 13-week-old Pepper’s face! This petit 18-pound black beauty, surrendered by her owner in Texas and separated from her siblings, is not only a survivor, she’s the calmest, most confident and most loving of puppies. Cuddling is her “super power,” molding her entire body into her foster mom’s, lying there so sweet and so still, like a heated stuffy toy. She also loves resting her head on her, rolling over for belly rubs and being under the covers, sleeping in the backyard in the sunshine and curling up on the couch by herself when she’s tired. Highly intelligent and happily energetic, Pepper thrives on a challenge and quickly understands any games her foster mom plays with her. As much as she enjoys playing with toys, chewing bones and playing fetch, she’s currently in quarantine awaiting all of her shots, but she’ll likely make an excellent running partner once she’s learned how to walk on a leash. Friendly towards the resident children, motivated by food and love, she knows “sit,” her favorite treat is dehydrated liver and any inappropriate chewing is easily redirected to a toy. Crate trained, almost fully house-trained, and just starting life’s journey, pretty Pepper will bloom in a loving and active home, perhaps with another young dog, that will complete her training, including her commands, and keep her in cuddles fur-ever.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. Story
Thankful for her second chance at life, 3-year-old Teeny Tiny is slowly learning to trust again. As she settles into her foster home, the sweet, shy and submissive 29-pound beauty now wags her tail at her foster mom, and the yearning look in her eyes clearly says, “pet me and love on me.” Moderately energetic, she enjoys going for walks, playing with and taking her soft toys outside and chewing on bones. Good with similar sized dogs and large ones, motivated by food and love, she accepts all treats gently, but currently knows no commands. Leash and crate trained and almost fully house-trained, Teeny Tiny is best suited to a tranquil home, perhaps with a canine companion, and especially patient adopters who will earn her trust, teach her her commands, and ultimately reap the benefits of watching her bloom.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. Story
One-year-old Boone brings an abundance of joy to his foster home! Brimful of loving affection, this dramatically dappled 37-pound dog is supremely sweet with a wonderful, playful disposition. He loves snuggling and cuddling with his fosters, resting his head on them, rolling over for belly rubs and then prancing proudly about. Intelligent and well mannered, he also loves playing with other dogs and going for walks, walking extremely well on a leash, and would likely make an ideal running partner if given some training. Fond of Kong tough toys, stuffies and squeakies, he likes and accepts all treats gently, is motivated by food, toys and love, and currently knows “sit,” “down” and “off.” Crate trained and almost fully house-trained to a doggy door, Boone’s ideal home is an affectionate and active one, perhaps with another canine companion, that will complete his training, including his commands, and keep him mentally and physically fulfilled fur-ever!    See additional photos here.  Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home.
