Story
Relishing his second chance at life is 4-month-old Reggie. At a trim 20 pounds, the black and white dappled beauty, so sweet and so social, so confident and so calm, loves being close to his fosters and especially loves having his belly rubbed. He also LOVES playing with two of his doggy foster friends, wrestling and running around the house and the yard and napping on multiple dog beds to recharge his puppy batteries. Highly intelligent, eager to please and easy to teach, motivated by food and love, he currently knows “come,” “sit” and “no” and gets along with the resident cats. Crate trained and diligently at work on his house-training, Reggie will flourish in a loving home, preferably with another energetic canine companion, and active adopters who will complete his training, including his commands, and ensure that his second life is his best paws-ible life.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $450 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit). Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Story
If courage had a face, it would be 13-week-old Pepper’s face! This petit 18-pound black beauty, surrendered by her owner in Texas and separated from her siblings, is not only a survivor, she’s the calmest, most confident and most loving of puppies. Cuddling is her “super power,” molding her entire body into her foster mom’s, lying there so sweet and so still, like a heated stuffy toy. She also loves resting her head on her, rolling over for belly rubs and being under the covers, sleeping in the backyard in the sunshine and curling up on the couch by herself when she’s tired. Highly intelligent and happily energetic, Pepper thrives on a challenge and quickly understands any games her foster mom plays with her. As much as she enjoys playing with toys, chewing bones and playing fetch, she’s currently in quarantine awaiting all of her shots, but she’ll likely make an excellent running partner once she’s learned how to walk on a leash. Friendly towards the resident children, motivated by food and love, she knows “sit,” her favorite treat is dehydrated liver and any inappropriate chewing is easily redirected to a toy. Crate trained, almost fully house-trained, and just starting life’s journey, pretty Pepper will bloom in a loving and active home, perhaps with another young dog, that will complete her training, including her commands, and keep her in cuddles fur-ever.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. Adoption Fee: $475 - I'm already neutered! All animals are UTD on vaccines (may need boosters) and microchipped From the foster: Chewy is a 1 year old heeler with a heart of gold and boundless energy! In his foster home, he reveled in playtime with a 25-pound companion and became an expert snuggler! His herding instincts make him eager for a job, whether it's playful companionship or exploring new surroundings during walks. Although he's still learning leash manners, a little guidance and lots of toys will make him your loyal and loving companion. Chewy is a pro at crate time, a fantastic sleeper, and fully potty-trained. With a big personality packed into a compact body, he's sure to bring joy and laughter to any household that understands and appreciates the unique traits of herding dogs. Story
Adoption Fee: $375 + $200 s/n deposit All animals are UTD on vaccines (may need boosters) and microchipped From the foster: Say hello to Freckles! (puppy 329) Although once you say hello, you'll probably be hooked on her sweetness just like we are! Freckles is a wonderful, joyful, and silly cattle dog mix puppy who is loving life. Her too-big-for-her-body ears are quite notable as well as her fabulous freckled coat. She even has a bit of brown/brindle on her ears, making her colors quite unique. Her personality is what shines even brighter to those that meet her, she is thrilled to snuggle up and give your chin all the kisses, but also always for a good game of chase if the moment calls for it. Freckles is a well-balanced pup, confident, and enjoys the company of our other three large resident dogs. She adores being outside and exploring, but not from her people. Inside she's loved sleeping on my feet while I work during the day. At night she sleeps with her littermate in a crate with a puppy pen attached for potty calls. She is able to recognize newspapers for potty time and even able to hit them with fairly decent accuracy. Further training will be warranted of course due to her young age, but she is off to a great start with the housebreaking, just keep it up with the consistency and she'll get there! She will likely be an active pup when full grown, so if hiking, running, general Colorado adventuring is your thing, she'll be sure to enjoy it too, especially if it means she can be at your side. Freckles is quite the little shadow. She will likely be a bit sad when in your home away from her siblings for a little bit, so please just give her patience, some cozy stuffies (SnugglePuppies with the heartbeat inside are great!), and reassurance and she'll know she's safe. No doubt, this little girl is going to brighten her adopters' world in a big way. Learn how to adopt me: www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Adoption Fee: $375 + $200 s/n deposit All animals are UTD on vaccines (may need boosters) and microchipped From the foster: Puppy #330 is an absolute love bug! She will cuddle and snuggle in your arms and get all the attention she can! She is so stinkin cute with her white fur and black markings! She is going to grow to be gorgeous and such a fun girl! She is always full of tail wags and is a happy girl! Puppy #330 tends to be a little reserved at first but some tummy rubs will do the trick! She has been fostered with her sister so she has had her confidence with her. They love to explore the outside world and pounce and play! She does well with toys so that is a plus! She has some great energy and once she plays, she gets worn out and is up for a snooze! She is quiet during the night and will be pretty easy to potty train. She uses the puppy pads pretty consistently and will use outside to potty more and more. She is a hardy eater but has shown some guarding of the food with her sister. She just growls a little and shows she wants it and is not up for sharing all the time. She is super dog friendly and will do great around kids although she is a puppy! Puppy #330 is an absolute delight! She is will make you smile and she is really starting to bloom in so many ways! She will aim to please and want to be your girl! Puppy #330 is ready for her furever home and give you kisses and love on you! She will tail wag her way to your heart even if she is a little reserved and need some patience once and a while!
