Story
9/8/2025 Buddy is good with cats! He even put his face in the fur of one of them Everyone can have a Buddy! Estimated 20 months (9/2025) Texas Blue Lacy mix  Good with dogs and loves people too! Found wandering at a gas station in San Antonio, Texas with a rope tied around his neck creating an open wound in October 2024. Buddy is a sweet puppy who gets excited when he hears his name. He's a lover who wants to love on everyone he meets. He wants to please and knows "no." Good with dogs but matches energy and behavior so not the best with ill behaved dogs. Crate trained. Buddy has already made his way up from San Antonio, Texas to Colorado and is being fostered in Denver! Red Fern Animal Rescue offers a two week foster to adopt trial in your home before finalizing the adoption to ensure the animal is the right fit for you, everyone in the home, human & animal, and vice versa. Red Fern Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based animal rescue in Denver that saves animals from abandonment and neglect in South Texas for new lives in Colorado. We primarily rescue dogs off the streets and from kill shelters in San Antonio. ##2268080##

Story
Meet Grey! This handsome 1-year-old Blue Lacy/Pittie mix is a total heart-melter with his soft silver coat and soulful brown eyes. Grey is a sweet, snuggly boy who adores his people and just wants to feel safe and loved. Grey hasn’t had an easy start, so he can be shy and easily startled—especially around strangers and men. He needs slow introductions and a patient family who understands that trust takes time. Once he feels comfortable, though? He becomes the wiggliest, happiest cuddle bug you’ve ever met. His tail never stops, and he’ll lean right into you for pets and affection. This boy is athletic, fun, and always up for an adventure! Grey loves hiking, fetch, tug-of-war, and anything that lets him run and stretch those legs. A fenced yard would be ideal. And when he’s done being an athlete, he’s just as happy curling up in your lap for a nap or nudging you for more love. Grey is also super smart! He’s mastered sit, down, place, out/drop it, heel, and waiting politely at doors. He walks nicely on leash and is working hard on feeling more confident around crowds and strangers—treats and gentle guidance make all the difference. He's crate trained, food motivated, and enjoys learning. Grey can be selective with other dogs and may get growly, so a dog-free home or a calm, compatible dog is best.   He's actually been pretty good with most and has 2 new besties. We've been dog-sitting a family dog for the week, and Grey is thriving. He is, "Good with some dogs"!   No young kids, please, as sudden movements can scare him. Cats are unknown. To help him continue to grow, Grey comes with lifetime training and support from the American Canine Academy! His perfect family will be calm, patient, kind, and experienced—someone who can help him feel safe while letting him blossom into the goofy, loving boy he truly is. If you’re ready to help a deserving pup heal and thrive, Grey is ready to love you with his whole heart. Find out more or apply to adopt this love bug at EAPL.com.  His adoption fee is $375.  January 5, 2026, 10:27 am

Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Alice #5 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Alice #5 | 3-Year-Old Pit Bull | Sweet, Snuggly Girl with a Nose for Adventure Alice is a 65-pound gray-and-white pit bull who is equal parts cuddle bug and curious explorer. Mostly house trained, she reliably stands by the door when she needs to go out and has quickly learned to use washable pee pads, with very few accidents. On leash, Alice does fairly well—she can pull a bit and loves to stop and sniff, taking in all the smells along the way. When left home alone (even for long stretches) with other dogs, she’s been a perfect angel: calm, non-destructive, and easygoing. Alice is friendly and social with other dogs and truly just wants to play, though she can come on a little strong with more sensitive pups. She’s done well around cats too, especially confident ones who can set boundaries—she’s playful and excitable, not aggressive. While she hasn’t met children yet, she adores the people she’s met so far; due to her size and enthusiasm, she may be better suited for a home with older kids. Alice doesn’t show a preference for men or women and is a low shedder, which is a nice bonus. This smart, slightly stubborn girl is still learning basic commands like sit and stay, responds well to structure and boundaries, and has a medium energy level—she’s happy with a couple of casual activity sessions each day and then settles in for couch time. Alice loves bones, car rides, bouncing balls, and honestly any treat you offer her. Her favorite thing, though, is affection—she’ll happily rest her head on you and try her best to be a lap dog despite her size. Alice would thrive in a home where she has plenty of companionship; if her people are away during the day, having another dog buddy would make her happiest. She came to us from North Carolina, and while we don’t know much about her past, it’s clear she has a big heart and a lot of love to give.     If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls.PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
Meet Lacy! This 3 year old Blue Lacy mix is a mama of seven sweet pups and the best house hippo anyone could ask for! A true girl’s girl, she is always up for a Starbucks run (for a Pup Cup), a walk around the park, and TV time to watch her favorite reality shows. She’s a constant shadow, providing protection around each turn, and an avid investigator (you’ll always know where bunnies and neighbor pups hide). Indoors, Lacy is respectful, so kind, and incredibly loving. Outdoors, she is curious, a bit reactive, and becomes hyper-focused on things around her (particularly on animals). She requires mental stimulation, security, and training. She is best suited for someone that will continue her training as her partner so that she can keep exploring the world that she has just begun to experience. She may be a mama, but she’s still young herself and deserves every opportunity to grow into the pup she wants to be. :)
