Story
With her gorgeous blue coat and adoring eyes, Melrose May will grab attention wherever you go. But more importantly, her sweet, loving, and loyal demeanor makes her an excellent companion. This smart girl is already fully potty trained and crate trained, and she’s learning commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “come.” She’s food motivated by just about any treat you have, and is a quick learner. Melrose is incredibly sweet and loving. She loves to cuddle with you and give plenty of kisses. Her favorite pastimes include spirited rounds of tug-of-war, gleeful squeaker toy romps, and savoring every delectable bite of her salmon treats. We estimate that Melrose is about 2 years old and a Blue Lacy mix. The Blue Lacy is the state dog of Texas and it’s where the breed originates from. But with rescue, we can’t guarantee age or breed since it’s a bit of a guess. She weighs 47 lbs and is the perfect size for couch snuggles, and neighborhood walks. Speaking of walks, she’s pretty easy on the leash. Melrose lives in a loving foster home where she gets the attention, care, and training to help her be the most successful she can be in her forever home. She lives with multiple other dogs ranging in weight from 40-80 lbs and she incorporated into the pack with no issues. While she lives with a cat, she’s a bit too interested in him and would do best in a home without kitties. Melrose is a playful girl and would do best with other dogs who like to play. She’s great at reading other dogs body language and she won’t pester other dogs. She’s happy to just hang out with her doggy friends if that’s all they want to do, but she prefers to have a moderate playmate. She is also more on the dominant side, meaning submissive doggy friends may be best for her. While she's not a big barker, she will bark sometimes if someone knocks on the door, or if other dogs are barking. For this reason, apartment living may not be the best choice for her. Melrose is a momma dog who was amazing to the only puppy she was found with. We’re not sure if there were others, or what happened to them. But we could see how much she loved and cared for her little pup. Don’t miss out on this incredible girl. She is truly a joy to be around and is sure to bring love and laughter to anyone lucky enough to adopt her. Currently fostered in Texas, she is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to travel to her forever home in the PNW or NE areas. This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is one of the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone! Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no choice but to euthanize animals for space. We prepare them for adoption by properly vetting and providing individualized care through our incredible behavior program that consists of socialization and leash training for all animals that enter our adoption program, prior to matching them with loving families who will treasure them for the rest of their lives. They are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts once adopted, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! Three Little Pitties Rescue just celebrated our 5 year anniversary! Over the course of this time, we have been very fortunate for so much growth, allowing us to further connect with the community and save many lives. Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 11,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be brought into our rescue program. Together, we can be heroes. Story
Bell is 8 years old and 26 lbs. The wonderful folks who saved her now need for someone to give her that only child love that she deserves. She is a sweet, loyal dog who will follow you around the house and curl up at your feet. She doesn’t get along with the pets in the foster home. Bell kinda wants all of the attention! She could adjust to sharing with another dog. She would prefer NO young children or cats in her home. She had a dental last May and is up to date on all of her shots and is spayed. She takes Fluoxetine to help with 'behavioral issues' (needs more exercise and stimulation, she's a herding dog...). Fill out an application at sccpets.com. Bell's adoption donation is $100.April 27, 2024, 10:48 pm

Female, Adult
Battle Ground, WA
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)

Good with kids, Not good with cats, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Beanie is a 3 year old Australian Cattle Dog (Heeler). She’s spayed and has all of her shots. She’s housetrained but does not get along with cats! She’s 50 lbs. These are the words of the owner/foster: Beanie is the sweetest cuddle bug! She loves hiking, camping, and being out in nature as well as being by your side and lounging on the couch. Beanie entertains herself and loves to throw her toys around, and also like to get outside and run! Beanie is well trained and aims to please - she always comes when called, knows all her basic manners and is house trained. She does great with kids and at the dog park, but does not like cats or skateboards. Beanie is gentle, shy, extremely submissive, and has some anxiety in new situations. She would do best as the only dog in a home or in a home with a really chill male dog. If you’re interested in adopting Beanie and giving this beautiful animal a forever home or have questions for owner, please fill out an application at sccpets.com (at no cost or obligation to you) Beanie's adoption donation is $200.April 27, 2024, 10:48 pm
