Story
With her gorgeous blue coat and adoring eyes, Melrose May will grab attention wherever you go. But more importantly, her sweet, loving, and loyal demeanor makes her an excellent companion. This smart girl is already fully potty trained and crate trained, and she’s learning commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “come.” She’s food motivated by just about any treat you have, and is a quick learner. Melrose is incredibly sweet and loving. She loves to cuddle with you and give plenty of kisses. Her favorite pastimes include spirited rounds of tug-of-war, gleeful squeaker toy romps, and savoring every delectable bite of her salmon treats. We estimate that Melrose is about 2 years old and a Blue Lacy mix. The Blue Lacy is the state dog of Texas and it’s where the breed originates from. But with rescue, we can’t guarantee age or breed since it’s a bit of a guess. She weighs 47 lbs and is the perfect size for couch snuggles, and neighborhood walks. Speaking of walks, she’s pretty easy on the leash. Melrose lives in a loving foster home where she gets the attention, care, and training to help her be the most successful she can be in her forever home. She lives with multiple other dogs ranging in weight from 40-80 lbs and she incorporated into the pack with no issues. While she lives with a cat, she’s a bit too interested in him and would do best in a home without kitties. Melrose is a playful girl and would do best with other dogs who like to play. She’s great at reading other dogs body language and she won’t pester other dogs. She’s happy to just hang out with her doggy friends if that’s all they want to do, but she prefers to have a moderate playmate. She is also more on the dominant side, meaning submissive doggy friends may be best for her. While she's not a big barker, she will bark sometimes if someone knocks on the door, or if other dogs are barking. For this reason, apartment living may not be the best choice for her. Melrose is a momma dog who was amazing to the only puppy she was found with. We’re not sure if there were others, or what happened to them. But we could see how much she loved and cared for her little pup. Don’t miss out on this incredible girl. She is truly a joy to be around and is sure to bring love and laughter to anyone lucky enough to adopt her. Currently fostered in Texas, she is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to travel to her forever home in the PNW or NE areas. Adoption fee includes transport to these states: WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, CT, VT, NY, PA, OH and BC Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA, approximately 30 minutes from the Canadian border). Brought by USDA licensed transport. Pick up day is unforgettable! Our dogs travel in style in our transport vehicle, equipped with air conditioning for comfort, two drivers, and onboard attendants providing 24-hour care. Local adoption in Texas is also available. The adoption fee is $775 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, 2-6 months of heartworm preventative according to age, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with a free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar for dogs over 4 months old, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! In addition to a fully vetted furbaby, you also receive many other additional perks such as a • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! *WE ARE TOLD THAT WE GO ABOVE AND BEYOND MEDICALLY. This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is one of the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone! Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no choice but to euthanize animals for space. We prepare them for adoption by properly vetting and providing individualized care through our incredible behavior program that consists of socialization and leash training for all animals that enter our adoption program, prior to matching them with loving families who will treasure them for the rest of their lives. They are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts once adopted, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! Three Little Pitties Rescue just celebrated our 5 year anniversary! Over the course of this time, we have been very fortunate for so much growth, allowing us to further connect with the community and save many lives. Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 11,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be brought into our rescue program. Together, we can be heroes. Follow along on our rescue journey through the links below! https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue *Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $74 surcharge. Story
Sweetest. Boy. Ever. Meet Romaine! Romaine is located in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area. (See information below in the "Adoption Donation" section.) Romaine is just the sweetest boy ever.  Loving and playful, Romaine is a purebred Blue Lacy, and he embodies the traits of one. Bred for hunting hogs, Blue Lacy dogs are intelligent, alert, affectionate, and active, and those words describe Romaine perfectly. He simply wants to love you and play. He plays very well with other dogs, though with his instinct to chase, he would do best in a home with a dog-wise cat or no felines.  Romaine picks up on the energy of the people around him, and when things get a little too hyped up or chaotic, he does as well. He is learning to channel that extra energy and consistency in showing him the appropriate way to do that will be key for his success.  Romaine would prefer a home with older kids (10 and up). Romaine is smart, a goofball, and a cuddly boy. Romaine's favorite activities include playing ball, walking with his people (he walks extremely well on a slip lead leash), and snuggling. He enjoys toy puzzles (like slow feeders) and interactive toys. Friendly and affectionate, Romaine is house and crate trained, though he’d rather be with you. He has learned his basic obedience commands, and since he equates learning with treats (an absolute favorite thing), Romaine has the potential to expand his behavior repertoire to include more tricks and agility training. Romaine’s ideal home? Maybe yours! A home where he would get walks and games of fetch as well as snuggles with people he loves. Someone to ensure he practices the skills that make him a well-rounded and happy dog. Canine companions and older kids to share his world would be a bonus. Romaine is a lovable sweetheart with a few quirks that have benefitted from training.  We will waive the $450 minimum adoption donation for adopters who agree to attend training with one of our Preferred Training Partners to learn how to set him up for success in his new home. Want to meet Romaine? Fill out an inquiry form or visit our website! Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue At Path of Hope Rescue, our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. We are primarily a volunteer organization that focuses on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes. Our adoption process sets us apart. We specialize in learning about you and your family to find just the right fit for you. Our Matchmakers are not only good at what they do; they will also guide you through the entire process.  Our Minimum Adoption Donation is $550 for puppies under a year and $450 for dogs one year and older. We are a WA state registered non-profit and rely heavily on adoption donations to cover the expenses associated with saving lives. Our dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption; microchipped with free lifetime registration; and up to date on DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines (when age appropriate) and heartworm and deworming. Adopters can also earn a $100 training refund if they attend (6) hours of any in person training course. We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment. Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog’s transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events. Adopters may choose to travel to Spokane to pick up their dog or use our monthly transport option, Puppy Delivery Express, for an additional delivery donation of $250.  Puppy Delivery Express currently delivers dogs throughout Washington and to parts of Montana, Idaho, and Oregon.  Please visit https://www.pathofhoperescue.com/ for more information about our organization and the adoption process. ##1793547##

Story
My given name from my foster mom is exactly who I am. Asta... this name means "divine strength", "love", and "star-like". I was abandoned by my first family on the side of the highway for a few months with my sister Kinsley. She was my protector during that time. I was terribly traumatized by being abandoned. Today I'm a shining star with beautiful grey eyes that match my coat. I like to play and go on backyard adventures with my sister and dog foster family. I like everyone and get along with other dogs and I'm a bit submissive and respectful towards everyone. I have beautiful pleading grey eyes that draw attention and make most ppl say awwwww and have a low key nature about me. We love each other very much and want to stay together for life! Please find it in your heart to adopt us together! We promise years of love and fun :) Local adoption fee together is $300 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee together is $600 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)
