Good with kids, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
MJ is approximately 5 1/2 years old, spayed and weighs around 38 pounds. She is a mixed breed, possible cattle dog/lab mix. She has lived with a family of two younger kids (now aged 6 and 9) since she was nine months old. She is very sweet and playful. She likes to snuggle and does well on car rides. She loves to go for walks, hikes, and play fetch, and will often go on longer runs. She is house trained and likes to sleep in her crate at night. She is able to be on her own for several hours as her current owners work outside the home, and she does not seem to have separation anxiety. She has completed basic obedience training. Mary Jane is a nervous dog when it comes to loud noises (fireworks, thunder) and she takes time to warm up to new people and new dogs. She has gone to other homes for dog sitting, with other dogs present, and has done just fine after taking a few minutes to get comfortable. As the children have gotten older she has begun to show anxiety due to the children's friends coming in and out of the house. She has become territorial (aggressive barking, some jumping) in and near her house which has become a problem due to kids' friends stopping by and a neighborhood park across the street. Once she gets to know the house guests she is usually fine, but it takes time and some active steps to get there. Owners have done several in-home trainer lessons but do not have the time and focus that MJ deserves. She would probably do okay with another dog(s) in the home and actually may enjoy it. She is unknown with cats. Although she has done great with the kids in her current home, a home with no young kids would be ideal unless extra time is spent for her to adjust. Owners would be happy to pay for an in-home private lesson with a dog trainer to help her transition to a new home. Please fill out an application at sccpets.com (at no cost or obligation to you). Her adoption donation is $200.If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application.January 15, 2026, 12:16 am

Story
Dingo is the sweetest dog for the right person. She is very protective of her person and will do anything you ask of her. She is very obedient, potty trained and ball motivated. She will be happy playing ball all day. She has a lot of energy and should be somewhere where she can run, although she has been with an elderly man for several years and happy if you just throw the ball. She had come from an unhappy situation previously, so she does have some anxiety. She needs a gentle loving home. She is the sweetest dog who needs a loving trusting home. Her owner is currently on hospice, that is the only reason she needs a new home.

Story
Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxQD-9Bt1kw John Connor has been with the rescue since last summer since he and his mom were dumped in the country. He is about 18 months old now and I don't understand why he hasn't been adopted. He is adorable, he only weighs about 40 lbs, he is great with other dogs, people, and cats. Perfect little dude. He loves to run and play and splish splash in the water. He would make a great companion for an active individual or a family that enjoys outdoor adventures or spending lots of time in the backyard. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) -- Vermont (Brattleboro) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative).
