Story
Meet Rhett! This striking blue and amber eyed boy is a sensitive soul; his time in the shelter didn’t break his soft heart, he’s very close and cuddly with his person and he likes to meet new friends. Rhett LOVES to snuggle. He’s presently living in harmony with another dog and cat in his foster home, he doesn’t pay much mind to the cat at all and he likes to play with his doggy friend occasionally but calms down easily. Rhett hasn’t had any formal training but he’s getting better on a leash, knows how to lay down, and he comes when he’s called (if you can get him to leave your side in the first place). He’s extremely treat motivated so he should do well with someone patient that’s willing to work on obedience training with him. He’s a very quiet boy, even when his foster sister is barking her face off at passers by Rhett doesn’t make a peep, he just quietly watches the action. We think he might be a greyhound mix but that’s just a guess. Rhett was in the shelter for a while so he has a few nervous self-soothing habits, most notably he slowly pets himself to sleep, and he has worried the hair around his waist although that seems to be subsiding now that he has a more stable environment. Rhett will do well with someone patient that’s willing to help him learn new skills and loves a close cuddle bug.

Story
Meet Our Brave Little Doberman Boy This 8-week-old male Doberman puppy is already showing the confident personality the breed is known for. He’s fearless, curious, and always ready to explore the world, but he also has a sweet side and loves keeping his humans close by. After a good play session, he’s happiest checking in with his people for some reassurance and affection. His foster family has been working hard on crate training and potty training, while also helping him learn what life is like away from his littermates. Like any young puppy, he’s still learning, but he’s a smart boy who is soaking everything up as he grows. He’s currently living with a Lab foster brother, and the two are getting along great. Having a playful buddy has helped him burn off some of that puppy energy and practice good social skills.Dobermans are intelligent, driven, and energetic dogs, so we are looking for adopters who understand the breed and are ready to commit to the time, structure, training, and exercise that will help him grow into a well-rounded adult dog. These pups thrive when they have both physical exercise and mental stimulation. His adoption fee is $600, which includes:• His neuter (to be completed by 6 months of age)• All required vaccinations for his first year of lifeIf you’re ready for the adventure of raising a smart, energetic Doberman puppy and helping him become the amazing dog he’s meant to be, he would love to meet you. Story
Meet Our Sweet Doberman Girl This beautiful 8-week-old female Doberman puppy is everything you’d expect from the breed—smart, energetic, and incredibly loving. She’s full of curiosity and puppy enthusiasm, always ready for her next adventure or game of playtime.Like most puppies her age, she loves to play and chew, and she’s happiest when she has toys or a buddy to keep her busy. In her foster home she has been having the best time burning off energy playing tug with her Lab foster brother, which has quickly become one of her favorite activities. Her foster family has already been hard at work with potty training and crate training. She’s doing great for her age and is learning quickly, though she sometimes needs a little time to settle down in her crate. With consistency, patience, and continued training, she is going to grow into an amazing companion.Because Dobermans are such intelligent and active dogs, she will do best with a family that can provide plenty of exercise, structure, and continued training as she grows. Her adoption fee is $600, which includes:• Her spay (to be completed by 6 months of age)• All first-year vaccinations• A lifetime of love from one very special puppy If you think this sweet, playful girl might be the perfect addition to your family, please email adoption@columbiahumane.org to apply. She’s ready to find a home where she can grow, learn, and be loved for the rest of her life. Story
Pork Chop was purchased from a breeder. He is a 6 month old Doberman Husky puppy. Due to unexpected health issues (owner) we have to find a new home for him. He is current on all vaccines except his rabies shot which is due in march 2026. He is still intact. Pork Chop has lived with children and is very good to them. He lets them climb on him and hug him. He is not food aggressive and has been trained to sit and stay while serving him food until you command him to eat. He is also trained not to fly into the house after being in the backyard. We have trained him to sit and stay until you command him to come in.Pork Chop has been trained to "Sit", "Stay", "Down", "Lay Down", and "Come." Due to being a puppy, continued training from an experienced dog owner is a must. Pork Chop is kennel trained with a kennel cover when we have to leave the house and going to sleep. Pork Chop's personality is playful, loving, and inteligent. He wants to be with his owners and loves people.

Story
Freya is such an engaging and energetic pup! She is always ready to play and will follow you around the house, eager to join in on whatever youre doing. She is a big girl so the size of her current home is too small and low-energy. We hope she goes to a home with lots of space, engaging owners, and ample stimulation. Perhaps someone she can be a lap dog for! She has been prescribed anti-anxiety medication because of nervous behaviors such as skin picking. This seems to be clearing up as the medication starts to kick in. Overall, though, she is very friendly! She adjusts quickly to strangers, loves rowdy kids, plays with the cat, and greets everyone with a big tail wag! Freya is not a dominant dog and doesn't get aggressive. She prefers to lay down when other dogs come by to make herself smaller, as well. She just wants to fit in as your new best friend!
