He is cat-friendly, but he can be a bit much for them since he always wants to play—so he’d do best in a cat-free home or one with a very tolerant, confident cat. This guy is active, athletic, and always ready for an adventure. Walks, outings, and staying busy are his jam, so he’ll need an active family who can keep up with his enthusiasm for life. Atlas does have some separation anxiety, but it is very manageable and continues to improve with routine and structure. He knows heel, sit, down, stay, look, place, waits at doorways like a polite Victorian gentleman. He walks wonderfully as shown in the videos. Trainers love him. Volunteers adore him. After 3 years at the adoption center it's his time to be in a real home. Sarge is your dream adventure buddy if your dream includes cardio, hiking, or just hanging out. He's already packed. Long walks? He's leading you there at a comfortable pace. He's got abundant energy and needs a human who can provide him exercise and mental stimulation (remember he's wicked smart!). And just when you think he's all gas, no brakes surprise! He's also a stage-five clinger. This 73-pound linebacker will attempt to fold himself into your lap like a delicate little teacup puppy. You will question how this is physically possible. He will not. He absolutely loves being close to his person or people. Now for the honest fine print: Sarge loves HARD.
